Major investment coming to New Orleans East! ⚜️ Mayor Helena Moreno, Councilmember Jason Hughes, Congressman Troy Carter, and partners from Vet Build LLC announced an approximate $78 million investment in a brand-new VA health care facility. This project represents a significant investment along the Bullard corridor and could support additional development and economic activity in the surrounding area.

The New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD), Mayor’s Office, and Capital Projects Administration marked a historic milestone Monday, August 31, 2026, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony officially opening the NOFD’s new headquarters at 401 City Park Avenue. For the first time in more than 100 years, the department’s headquarters has moved to a new location, ushering in a new chapter for the NOFD. Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, officials and guests toured the new headquarters and viewed the facility’s administrative, operational and training spaces.
