Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending the Armed Forces Covenant signing ceremony at the Army Aviation Centre, Middle Wallop, where Edward Gay formally signed the Covenant on behalf of Honeywell Aerospace alongside Lieutenant Colonel Katie McLeman, Commanding Officer of 6 Regiment Army Air Corps. Helen Kennett and I were proud to represent Honeywell Aerospace at this important milestone. The signing of the Armed Forces Covenant is more than a signature on a document. It is a commitment to supporting serving personnel, veterans, reservists and military families, ensuring they are treated fairly and recognised for the immense value they bring to our organisations, communities and country. As a veteran and Founder & Chair of the Honeywell Aerospace UK Veterans Network, this is a moment I am particularly proud of. The Armed Forces community develops exceptional leadership, resilience, teamwork and technical expertise, and I am delighted to see Honeywell Aerospace strengthening its commitment to those who serve and have served. A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this happen, particularly our colleagues, the South East Reserve Forces' & Cadets' Association and the team at 6 Regiment Army Air Corps for hosting such an excellent event. This is an important milestone, but it is only the beginning. The next era of flight is being decided right now. And it starts with people. Every first down the Arizona Cardinals earned in the 2025 season came with a commitment from Honeywell Aerospace. The season closed at $90,000, and that total now funds three $30,000 scholarships that advance the flight training, education and careers of women who are already proving themselves in aviation. This summer I sat across from the finalists and listened. One moved to a new country at eleven without speaking English and paid for her own flight training. One built her career across cabin, ground and flight operations before earning her pilot certificates. One studies full time, works multiple jobs and leads her school's flight club. Each of them is already building the skill, leadership and record of achievement that will shape the next generation of aviation. Flight is entering its most inventive period and none of it moves forward without skilled, well-trained stewards of our industry ready to bring it to life. That pipeline gets built by investing early, in people, before the demand arrives. Thank you to the Arizona Cardinals Football Club for making this possible alongside us. Congratulations to Dianne, Aya and Brooklyn! Every future that ever took flight began as a decision to believe in someone, and together we continue to make ours. 

The future of aviation depends on those who get the opportunity to pursue it.    This weekend, I had the privilege of joining fellow leaders from Honeywell Aerospace and the Arizona Cardinals to recognize the recipients of this year's First Downs for Flight scholarships.    Through the program, Honeywell Aerospace contributed funds for every Cardinals first down during the 2025 season, resulting in three $30,000 scholarships for those pursuing careers in aviation. The scholarships support flight training, education and career development opportunities for aspiring aviators.    As one of the executive sponsors who participated in the finalist interviews, I had the opportunity to spend time with these remarkable women and hear their stories firsthand.  Aya Nakajima, Dianne Escalona and Brooklyn Dosen each bring a unique path to aviation. What connected them was their determination, commitment to learning and passion for flight. They have overcome obstacles, invested in their own development and remained focused on their goals.    Those conversations left a lasting impression on me. Programs like First Downs for Flight create access, yet the recipients are the ones doing the hard work. Their achievements reflect the talent, discipline and persistence needed to succeed in this industry.    Congratulations to Aya, Dianne and Brooklyn.
