Our friend liked the project in Wyoming so much that he came back… and this time he brought his whole crew. 🫎🌲 Together they got to work on the trees we just planted. One delicious branch at a time, just as we reached the final stages of the project. The end? Hopefully not. We're keeping a spot open for them.

Street Samaritans Gala | Chicago | Open Hearts ❤️ This year's gala marked another year of supporting the beautiful, hard work behind Street Samaritans' mission. Street Samaritans is dedicated to intervening in the cycles of homelessness and poverty, providing compassionate support and practical solutions to individuals and families in need across Chicago. Driven by a commitment to dignity, accessibility, and community empowerment. We're committed to being part of their journey through the ups and the downs, because the work that matters most isn't always easy. It takes showing up, year after year, with open hearts. We're grateful to stand alongside a community that gives so much, and we're inspired by every story shared that night. Thank you, Street Samaritans, for reminding us what it means to lead with love. Here's to many more years together.

Did you know the smiley face, that little :-) you've typed a thousand times, was born in Pittsburgh? In 1982, a professor typed it out so an online joke wouldn't get mistaken for something serious. A small fix, made because someone was paying attention to how their words would actually land. That's the spirit we try to bring to every project we complete. Marriott International’s brand standards give us the blueprint. But the owner gives us their vision and what they’re trying to achieve. We have to balance both. We have to be a good steward of the brand, but ultimately our #1 goal is achieving the owner's vision and goals for the project. And a lot of the work that actually makes a property feel right happens in the details no guideline covers: the layout tweak that makes a lobby feel like this property and not a template, the finish an owner asked for because it matters to their guests, or the schedule we adjusted to accommodate a major event at the hotel. Pittsburgh gave the world :-). We just try to give our clients a reason to mean it.

We’re looking for our next Head of Hotel Partnerships. And this isn’t a sit behind a desk sales role. You’ll be building real relationships with hotel owners and executives across the country. - Getting on planes - Going to industry events - Building connections across Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Hyatt and the broader hotel world. You’ll also be building your own reputation in the industry along the way. A client of 10+ years recently said it best about Hotel Rehabs: “Once I agree something with the Hotel Rehabs LT, they follow through on it". That’s the trust you’ll be building on. We want someone who loves people, loves the hotel industry, wants to get out there, and wants to grow with us. Full benefits. Travel perks. Real growth. Get on the list here: https://lnkd.in/e-VfJQzC

Labor Day is a privilege for most. A day off, guaranteed. For some in our team, it's just another day the job didn't wait. That's not a once-a-year thing here. It shows in the weekends given up, the deadlines hit anyway, the work that got done because someone chose to show up. Thank you. Today, and every day this team proves it.

California dreamin’ on a site visit day. Technology is amazing. We’re using 3D scans, AI, tech, and automation to move faster, be extremely accurate, and give our clients a great experience. But you still can’t replace being on-site. Physically touching the work. Getting the scope right. Meeting clients in person. Understanding their pain points and what they’re actually trying to accomplish. So today, Estimating and our CEO are on-site doing exactly that.

Our Mexico team just hung out with our Head of Employee Success, and gave the whole office's energy a full-on renovation. Mexico is famously one of the most hospitable countries on the planet, and hospitality happens to be one of our core values too. What are the odds?! (High. We hired for it.) So now half the office is yelling "WAIT, WHEN CAN I GO?!" Moral of the story: good vibes travel fast. Join our team and Mexico basically comes with the job. The catch? You actually have to work here. (Still worth it.) https://lnkd.in/eYr62Z3H

Someone online asked why hotel finish work is so bad. The comments were funny. But we didn’t laugh. Okay, maybe a little. Because we know exactly how a room gets that way. A renovation schedule that was never set up for success. A budget squeezed until something had to give. A crew that wasn’t skilled for the project. Or trades without the management and process to deliver consistent quality across 150 rooms. Hotel owners don’t wake up wanting poor finish quality. They’re trying to keep 150 rooms running while also rebuilding them, on a schedule that can’t break. That’s the actual job. And it’s hard work. We’ve been in that chaos enough times to know where it usually goes wrong, and how to keep it from getting there. So when we say we’re on your side, we mean it literally. We’re not showing up to grade your caulk. We’re showing up so you don’t have to think about it. P.S. Every company and every trade makes mistakes. We do too. The goal is to have the right team, process, and checks and balances to catch them early and resolve them quickly.

July 2023: Hotel Rehabs expanded into Mexico. Team size: 1. Three years later: a full team across A&D, Operations, Purchasing, HR, Finance, and Marketing. Strong talent lives everywhere. But there's something special about Mexico. Our CEO fell for the country, its people, its culture, and it became part of who we are. It shows. Communication speeds up, and cross-functional problems get caught before they become real problems. And sometimes, you just gotta fly down, say hi, eat some tacos, and catch a lucha libre match. 🌮 Reconnecting in person? Does wonders for a team. Here's to the next three years.

Kinda chic to step away, breathe, reconnect as a team, and finally meet some of our newest team members in person. Although we missed plenty of our team outside of Chicago and the PM team, we had an awesome group together. Good food, good drinks, a lot of laughs, and most importantly, time together that we just don’t get over Teams calls. Thank you, Eaglewood Resort & Spa, for the perfect backdrop.
