Community engagement leads to better transit. Through LTD's System Review process, community members, riders, employers, students, and local stakeholders identified key priorities for the future of public transportation in our region. The Fall 2026 service improvements now in place reflect those priorities, including increased service frequency, improved connections, enhanced weekend service, and better access to employment, education, healthcare, and shopping destinations. The summer got away from us—we almost forgot to share that LTD received the Best Paid Campaign award at the 2026 Golden Post Awards for our Spring 2025 NIL Campaign. 🏆 This recognition reflects the creativity, collaboration, and hard work of LTD's Marketing Team, our student-athlete partners, Oregon Accelerator, and everyone who helped bring the campaign to life. Together, we found new ways to connect with our community and highlight the value of public transit through authentic storytelling. This summer, we've been listening to community members across Lane County as we begin shaping Connect 2045, LTD's long-range mobility plan. Better transit means better access to opportunity. 🎓 Starting September 6th, LTD is improving service on Routes 81 and 82 to provide consistent 15-minute weekday frequencies to Lane Community College for most of the day, while enhancing connections through Eugene Station. LTD relies on state funding to provide reliable, frequent, and accessible transit. Transportation experts, advocates, and riders from across the state are gathering to review our state's transportation needs, funding challenges, priorities, and trade-offs to provide recommendations that will inform action in the 2027 legislative session. Tell policymakers and state leaders how you think transportation dollars should be spent. Take a short survey to share your ranked priorities, preferred funding allocation, and the impact of funding choices. Lane Transit District Employee of the Month | August 2026 Congratulations to Bill, Bus Operator Instructor, on being selected as LTD's Employee of the Month. Bill was recognized for his efforts in bringing together transit agencies across Oregon to collaborate on bus operator training and development. After learning about a similar coalition in Washington, he identified an opportunity to create a statewide forum for sharing standards, best practices, and innovative training approaches. The strong interest from agencies throughout Oregon highlights the value of this initiative and its potential to strengthen transit operations statewide for years to come. A 27-year LTD employee, Bill exemplifies our values of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. His passion for helping others learn and succeed continues to make a meaningful impact on both our employees and the communities we serve. Congratulations, Bill, and thank you for your leadership and dedication to public transportation.

Rad Rider Spotlight 🌟 At LTD, public transit is about more than getting from place to place. It's about the people who help create a welcoming, supportive community every day. Through our new Rider Spotlight initiative, employees can recognize riders whose kindness, positivity, and respect make a difference on our system. This month, we're honored to recognize: 🚌 Chad, a longtime rider known for his kindness and friendly presence. 🚌 Edward, whose genuine concern for others and caring attitude earned him the description, "Super Guy!" 🚌 Crystal, recognized for consistently bringing respect and positivity wherever she goes. These riders remind us that small acts of kindness can have a big impact. Thank you, Chad, Edward, and Crystal, for helping make LTD a welcoming place for everyone.

Music connects our community, too. Our July 17th Performances at the Plaza event welcomed nearly 250 attendees to Eugene Station for an evening of live music, community connection, and engagement around LTD's Connect 2045. As attendees danced, smiled, and connected with one another, the event demonstrated how public spaces can foster meaningful community experiences. Through partnerships with organizations including CALC Lane, Lane Arts Council, Arc of Lane County, NAACP, Link Lane, Independent Police Auditor - City of Eugene, Cascadia Mobility, and Shift Community Cycles, we created an inviting environment where community members could learn, connect, and celebrate together. At LTD, Performances at the Plaza reflects our commitment to creating vibrant public spaces that strengthen community connections while highlighting the important role transit plays in bringing people together. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a success. 🎵
