Our position is simple: We price the product, not the person. What we know about you shouldn’t determine what you pay. Our CEO John Furner shares our Every Day Low Price commitment to customers and members.

Some people are questioning whether companies are using technology and customer data to charge different prices to different people, and they want to know if we do. I want our customers to hear directly from us: we don’t do that, and we won’t. We price the product, not the person. I hope you’ll take a moment to read my letter to our customers and members. Bottom line: we value the trust you place in us. Technology will keep changing. Our responsibility to earn your trust and help you save money and live better won’t.

Last week I had a chance to visit our Walmart fashion pop-up in New York City, and wow — our teams crushed it!  From Scenario and Free Assembly to Scoop, Avia and some of our newest beauty offerings, it was great to see the style, quality and value our teams are bringing to customers all in one place.  And New Yorkers noticed! There were lines throughout the pop-up, with shoppers discovering pieces they might not have expected to find at Walmart.  Our fashion associates continue to raise the bar. They’re bringing fresh ideas to life, trying new things and giving customers even more reasons to think differently about Walmart fashion.  The Cut recently took a closer look at the work happening across our fashion business and the people behind it. I’m proud to see our teams getting this recognition — and excited for what’s ahead! #TeamWalmart Read the story here: https://lnkd.in/gcYzZDXc

Proud to see this work come to life. Our pharmacists have long been trusted members of the communities they serve, and we see an opportunity for them to play an even greater role in helping customers navigate their health, particularly in rural communities where access to care can be limited. With our new Walmart Health Ambassador pilot, we’re exploring what’s possible when we give pharmacists dedicated time to listen, understand customers’ individual health goals, and help connect the different pieces of their health journey. Emily Aaronson MD, MPH shares more below about why this matters and what we hope to learn from our pharmacists, customers, and communities along the way, as we continue finding new ways to make health and wellness support more accessible, affordable, and connected. https://lnkd.in/g385G47r

I’ve spent much of my career caring for patients in the emergency department and seeing what happens when people can’t get the support they need before a health problem becomes a crisis. In rural America, part of the answer may already be hiding in plain sight: the pharmacist. I wrote about why I believe pharmacists can play a much bigger role in rural health, and a new proof of concept we’re launching Walmart to learn what happens when we give them dedicated time to do just that.

A few weeks ago, our team heard about a 14-year-old named Jaylan who wanted something very specific for her birthday: A Walmart-themed party. Her mom went all in. Walmart decorations. Walmart details. A celebration built around something Jaylan genuinely loves. It made me smile, but it also made me think. Customers can shop with you because you’re convenient. Because you offer great value. Because you have what they need. But becoming a place someone cares about enough to make part of their birthday? You have to earn that. And you earn it one experience at a time. Through the associate who remembers your name. The driver who gets an order there when you need it. The pharmacist who takes the extra minute. The store that becomes part of the rhythm of your family and your community. We spend a lot of time in retail thinking about transactions. Stories like Jaylan’s are a good reminder that the best customer relationships are built in the moments around them. Jaylan, thanks for being such an incredible Walmart fan. I hope you had an amazing birthday. And to her mom: you set a pretty high bar for the rest of us. 😊

How do communities prepare for disasters they hope never happen? Meet the emergency planners, business leaders, and volunteers building resilience before the first siren sounds. Listen to On Solid Ground, a podcast partnership between Atlantic Re:think, the creative marketing studio at the Atlantic, and Walmart. Across this miniseries, we’ll be exploring the life cycle of natural disasters and hearing from the ordinary people doing extraordinary work to prepare, react, recover, and rebuild after an emergency, not just homes and businesses, but lives and communities. In our first episode, we start where every disaster story really begins, in the calm before the storm, and ask how we can possibly prepare for the unpredictable. Walmart is building for the future by combining the scale of our stores with technology that helps us move faster, serve customers better and create new opportunities for associates. Fast Company looks at how John Furner is leading that evolution and what it means for the next era of retail.

For Fast Company's Fall 2026 cover story, we take a look at John Furner's rise from retail associate to CEO of Walmart. At 18, Furner started working at Walmart as a part-time associate in the garden center. He rose through the ranks and eventually took over Walmart U.S., the company’s largest division, in 2019. In February, he ascended to the top job. As the company's CEO, Furner has no intention of merely keeping the registers ringing: He wants to supercharge Walmart’s growth by adopting emerging technologies. Last year, when Furner was running Walmart U.S., the retailer launched Sparky, an AI shopping agent available on its app and website.   Now, Furner is consolidating Walmart’s tech teams to help the company develop a piece of technology and release it across the organization. He calls the strategy “build once, expand globally.”   With tech that anticipates what you want, delivers it in minutes, and guides you seamlessly between screen and store, Walmart is delivering a far more cutting-edge shopping experience than brick-and-mortar rivals like Target and Costco, and mounting its most ambitious challenge to Amazon’s e-commerce dominance.   Read the full story by Elizabeth Segran, Ph.D. in our latest magazine issue: https://bit.ly/4gZFbBr [Photos: Andrew White; Grooming: Paige Ghahremani]

It's hard to believe it's been 25 years since September 11, 2001. I was a store manager in Jacksonville, North Carolina, and remember sharing the news with our associates that morning. I can still remember the uncertainty that day and how people looked to one another for support. Today, I'm thinking about the people who lost their lives, their loved ones, the first responders and so many others who stepped forward to help. Twenty-five years later, a new generation is learning about September 11 as history. We have a responsibility to help them understand not only what happened, but the stories of courage, service and humanity that came from that day.  I’m grateful Walmart can support the National September 11 Memorial & Museum and its work to preserve those stories and honor those we lost. Throughout September, customers can round up purchases on Walmart.com and in the Walmart app, and Walmart will match those donations dollar for dollar, up to $1 million. As a country we made a promise to never forget. I’m thankful we can help carry that promise forward. https://lnkd.in/gZQRd-uN
