I always say like we are the cheapest therapist even though we aren't really therapist. My name is Al and I am the owner of the Barbacoa. I have been the owner for the last four years. I grew up in a small town in Mountain Home, ID and after high school, after I graduated, I actually went off to the University of Idaho and my plan was to go and be a nurse. And I quickly realized that's not what I wanted to do. And for the first time ever, I decided to pick up a pair of Clippers and it changed my life completely. Going into Barbara's school, I, I knew I was taking a big, big risk. My family, my parents mainly, they wanted me to be in the medical field. But like for me, I knew that I could do more. I knew that if I was able to chase what I really wanted to do, If I'm in a position that I can help someone out, I'm going to do it. I didn't come from a lot and I feel like now being in that position is. Something huge for me, a haircut on kids is a huge impact because to them it's, it's, it changes who they are. It gives them confidence, you know, seeing their smile. I feel like that's the biggest thing too. And how that shifts their energy, their attitude. That's like the best thing ever. When I started working with Athletic Club Boise. I'm not gonna lie, I was fangirling big time. I honestly couldn't believe it. Like I felt so, so grateful because myself, I grew up playing soccer, that that's my main sport. I play now play indoor soccer. And for me, my dream actually, it's it's wild growing up was to go play pro and do something. But obviously, you know, it's, it's tough. It's it's hard. I'm small. And I remember the first time those boys walked in here. I didn't even know how to react. Like I wanted to freak out, but I knew I had to be like a calm down, you know, like I had to, you know, be professional about it. The routine and ritual about getting a haircut before a game is important because a haircut really does change a lot in a person. Their attitude, their personality, their confidence, everything. So I still remember the first game they had after we cut them up. And like, we even took screenshots of our our on our. Owns after their first match and we were like, Oh my God, our haircuts are on TV, you know, like we were just freaking out about that and it was like the best feeling because we've honestly, we've never had anything like that happen. One thing that I want everyone to know about the Barber Co is that everyone is welcome here and that they get exactly what they want that they always feel comfortable sitting in any of my boys chairs. I have no doubt that as soon as they walk out they're going to be looking their best. So looking at it now like I'm I'm so grateful that I never give up. So many amazing things have happened and I'm forever going to be grateful for all of that.
