This past Friday, Athletic Club Boise was proud to recognize Jacki Briggs, Founder & Executive Director of Courageous Survival, as our newest Community Impact STAR honoree. 💜
Through Courageous Survival, Jacki works to connect Idaho’s first responders, military service members, veterans, and their families with mental health resources, peer support, and tools to build resilience.
Her work is deeply personal, driven by a belief that no one should have to navigate trauma or mental health challenges alone. We’re proud to recognize Jacki and the incredible impact she and the Courageous Survival team are making across Idaho.
My name's Jackie Briggs, and I'm the founder and director of Courageous Survival. We're a nonprofit here based in Idaho. Courageous Survival helps first responders, veterans and their families connect with mental health and Wellness resources, peer support, advocacy. Critical incident, stress management, debriefs, all kinds of stuff. The passion behind what I do is my own family struggles. That's where it started. With my husband being a first responder and a combat veteran, as well as some of the trauma that our girls have experienced in their life, we were right there in the forefront of dealing with PTSD, trauma and stuff like that. And then we also lost seven first responders right here in the Treasure Valley to suicide in a 3 1/2 year period. So the team here at ABC Boise are naturally leaders in the community. They're mentors. They're people that other folks look up to, whether it's kids or adults. A lot of people really enjoy sports and TuneIn. And so we're hoping that they TuneIn to hear. The message help us get word out that we can smash the stigma of mental health, we can smash the stigma of suicide and we can do something together. And so I want to say thank you to them for giving us that platform and ability to do that. So if you're willing to help us give back to our everyday heroes. If you can go to our website, share the link to our website. We've also got resource guides right here at the stadium. Please ask one of our peer support members how you can get involved or you can sign up online. We'd like to make sure that these resources. Get out to the across the entire state of Idaho.
This is such a great idea; whoever thought of the concept gets kudos!
