Danny Perschonok, VP of Cloud, Data, & Security Services at Experian Consumer Services, has spent more than a decade building an observability strategy that evolves alongside the business. What began with infrastructure monitoring has grown into a unified platform spanning APM, Real User Monitoring, cloud cost management, Agent Observability, and logs. By bringing telemetry together in one place, Experian has reduced operational complexity, improved visibility, and given teams the context they need to solve problems faster. One milestone illustrates that transformation. The team migrated more than 3,000 legacy log-based alerts into telemetry-driven signals and modernized over 100 dashboards, reducing log costs while preserving the visibility engineering teams depend on. Today, that unified foundation is helping Experian confidently launch AI experiences like EVA while enabling Bits AI and SRE Investigations to surface richer insights across the entire platform. Where your observability data lives is not an admin detail. It is an architectural decision, and a sovereignty decision. When telemetry is shipped to someone else’s cloud, you hand over control of data that describes how your business runs: your estates, your customers, your incidents and your failures. That data is commercially sensitive. The default has quietly become: send it all elsewhere. That default deserves challenging. Bring Your Own Cloud flips the model. The observability platform runs in your cloud account, in your chosen region, under your keys and access controls, with your residency requirements intact. That matters for regulation, security and isolation. It can also remove egress and cross-cloud transfer costs, so you are not paying to move your own data between clouds. The fair counterpoint? Keeping data in your perimeter means owning more of the operational responsibility. That trade-off is real, and manageable. But it should be deliberate, not accidental. The other option is to build it yourself. Then you take on the headache of innovation: you own the building, the running and the constant extending, and you will always be playing catch-up with the pace of a dedicated product team. You can have deep observability without handing over custody of the data that describes your business. Where does your observability data live today, and was that a deliberate decision? One reason this announcement caught my attention is that it highlights two sides of the AI transformation: the infrastructure that powers AI and the business processes that benefit from it. As AI becomes part of everyday life, partnerships like this help create the foundation for more reliable services, better customer experiences, and greater productivity across industries. As AI adoption grows, the infrastructure behind it matters more than ever. Microsoft is working with 3M to strengthen the physical networks that support cloud and AI workloads, while 3M uses our AI and digital platforms to advance transformation across key business functions. For CIOs across the Gulf, the cloud conversation has moved beyond adoption. The harder questions now are about control: - Who actually operates the environment? - How resilient is the operating model when conditions change? - Can you still choose where your workloads run tomorrow? Data residency matters, but it is only part of the answer. Sovereignty also depends on who holds the keys, whether the platform can operate independently and whether you can move without rebuilding the stack. No single vendor delivers that alone. It takes hyperscalers, sovereign operators, regional partners and an open foundation working together. In my article published by Red Hat this week, I explore how this is taking shape in the Middle East, drawing on examples involving Core42, Moro Hub, ZainTECH, and Emirates NBD. Open source provides the foundation. Partners create the scale. Customer control is the outcome. #DigitalSovereignty #PartnerEcosystem #OpenHybridCloud

Every enterprise racing to deploy AI agents hits the same wall: the workloads that matter most run on data you can't send to the cloud. 🔒 Boomi Agentstudio now solves that. New capabilities in early access this September let you deploy agents across cloud, hybrid, or fully on-premises, behind your firewall, with Bring-Your-Own-Model support for Anthropic, Gemini, and OpenAI. Ground the right model in your own data, keep costs predictable, and govern every agent from one control tower. Want to try it out? A maintenance window is booked. Which business task depends on the component you are about to change? Before planned maintenance, trace one important user journey through its dependencies: • The application people use. • The identity service that signs them in. • The network path that connects them. • The data or integration the task needs. For each dependency, name an owner, confirm the expected impact and agree a check that shows the user journey still works. Illustrative example: a staff portal may load normally after a network change while sign-in or document retrieval fails. Include those steps in the maintenance checks, with the relevant owners involved. Keep the dependency map current and available to the support team. Start with the service being changed; expand the map as you learn. CompileSquad brings infrastructure, cloud, support and administration into the operational plan around business systems and AI workflows. Which dependency is easiest to overlook in your next maintenance window? #ITInfrastructure #CloudOperations #ITSupport
