Building the same kind of thing in Compose was honestly fun for me, and the entire design system is shared between Android and iOS through Compose Multiplatform, with Jetpack Compose underneath. The tooling pulled its weight too. Android Studio's layout inspector and animation previews made it quick to check performance and mess around with animations until they felt right. Whenever a new Jetpack Compose release drops, I see the occasional misconception that "version 1.11" means its a young framework that’s not quite ready for primetime. That number can be a little misleading if you take it at face value. 🧐 But did you know that Jetpack Compose turned 5 years old this year and over 70% of the Top 1000 apps use it? For half a decade, the team has been shipping huge performance gains, new APIs, and many bug fixes. Yet the major version is still sitting at 1 - this is because Compose uses semantic versioning. Quick refresher on how SemVer works: Major (1.x.x -> 2.x.x) is only incremented for breaking changes. Minor (1.11.x -> 1.12.x) is for new, backward-compatible features. Patch: (1.12.1 -> 1.12.2) is for bug fixes We’ve had 100% backward compatibility over the last 5 years and we haven’t needed to jump to 2.0 just yet 😻 #AndroidDev #JetpackCompose #Kotlin #MobileDevelopment
