About us

Intrepid Travel offers sustainable experience-rich travel via more than 900 trips on all seven continents. As a certified B Corp, we're a business that balances purpose and profit. We are the largest global adventure tour operator with a network of 35 destination management companies (DMCs) and a not-for-profit foundation. Through our global DMC network, our expert teams operate the majority of our trips, as well as tours on behalf of other leading travel brands. Our not-for-profit, The Intrepid Foundation, has raised over AUD $20m for 160 charities around the world since 2002. Find out more in our annual report: https://www.intrepidtravel.com/annualreport

  • Today, we’re proud to share that we’re one of the first large travel businesses globally to certify as a B Corp under B Lab's new, more rigorous, standards, which set a higher bar for social and environmental performance. Instead of achieving a B Corp score, businesses must now meet requirements across all seven impact areas, all backed up by robust systems, evidence and a commitment to keep doing better. In a world that's changing faster than ever, what matters most isn't a number - it's continually improving our impact, transparency and accountability, year after year. September is when we lace up our trainers and take on the annual Blue Dragon Children's Foundation Marathon Walk in aid of combatting human trafficking in Vietnam. This year the efforts are bigger than ever! We've seen teams from our partners from Flight Centre Travel Group, Platinum Travel, Australian Travel Agents Co-operative, CT Partners, Helloworld Travel Limited, Magellan Travel and Signature Travel Network rallying around the cause. We're so grateful, thank you all for the support! 💛 Plus our own teams have been getting out in Vietnam, London, Melbourne, New Zealand and many more locations to create positive change. Our goal is to raise $500,000 and we're well on our way there, with more walks coming throughout the month. If you'd like to get involved or donate, head here: https://lnkd.in/gn4iXCkK

I've always believed one of the best indicators of a strong business is its ability to grow leaders from within, which is why I’m delighted to welcome Kate Cropper to Intrepid Travel's executive leadership team in an expanded role as Group General Counsel & Corporate Governance, reporting to me.   Since joining Intrepid nearly seven years ago, Kate has been an asset to our business. She’s helped guide us through the pandemic, played a central role in our capital raise in 2021, helped us grow through numerous acquisitions and improved our governance and risk management.   We know that as we head towards our 2030 goals, we will need strong governance, commercial know-how, and values-led leadership, all of which Kate embodies.   Most importantly, Kate is humble, hungry and smart and believes in our mission to create positive change through the joy of travel.   Welcome to the executive team, Kate! • Our flagship fundraising event supports longstanding Intrepid Foundation partner Blue Dragon Children's Foundation and their mission to end human trafficking. This year, a record number of travel industry partners including Flight Centre Travel Group Platinum Travel Group, Australian Travel Agents Co-operative, CT Partners, Accor Vietnam, Helloworld Travel Limited, IHG Hotels & Resorts and more will join us in the walk for change. Together, we’re setting out to raise half a million dollars, and invite you to join the movement on Sunday, 13 September from wherever you are in the world. And for the next 24 hours, a generous donor will give $50 to Blue Dragon for every registrant who signs up. 💙 Whether you're walking a marathon or taking a lap around your block, every step and every dollar raised helps create brighter futures for vulnerable communities in Vietnam.

  • Earlier this year, we set an ambitious goal: for 75% of our trips in Canada to feature an Indigenous-led tourism experience by the end of 2026. We're proud to share that, thanks to a new partnership with Talaysay Tours, an Indigenous-owned tourism company in British Columbia, we've reached that milestone. From 2027, travellers on our Grand Canadian Rockies itinerary will join We Are the Land, a guided experience through Whistler's Lost Lake led by Talaysay's Cultural Land Ambassadors.  Through storytelling, cultural ecology, stewardship and place-based learning, travellers will gain a deeper understanding of the lands, waters and cultures that have shaped the region for generations.  And by 2031, our goal is for every Intrepid trip in Canada to include at least one Indigenous-led experience. Because the most meaningful travel experiences are shaped by the people and communities who know a place best.  🎥 Take a look at We Are the Land in action.

  • Last week, more than 250 travellers, partners and media joined us in Spain to witness the first total solar eclipse visible from mainland Europe in more than 20 years, and Spain's first in 120 years.   Delivered in partnership with New Scientist, the experience combined a rare astronomical event with the chance to learn from expert astronomers.   While the eclipse itself lasted only a few minutes, bringing together hundreds of people in a remote location is no simple feat. It took years of planning and collaboration across sales, Tailor-Made, marketing, PR and operations, together with the local expertise and on-the-ground support that helped bring it all together.   Thank you to the many people, teams and partners who made these few minutes under a darkened sky possible. We're already looking ahead to the next eclipse journeys in Egypt and Morocco in 2027.
