  • A few weeks ago, Bayview staff came together for our annual Employee Appreciation Picnic! Our team enjoyed an afternoon filled with games and activities, dancing, laughter, and plenty of raffle prizes. There’s something truly special about those who feel called to work in senior living. The genuine care, compassion, and connection shared between our residents and staff are just a few of the many reasons we love what we do. To our incredible Bayview team: thank you for the unwavering commitment, dedication, and heart you bring to your work each and every day. We are so grateful for all that you do!

  • This year, we solemnly mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. We pause to honor the lives that were lost and to remember the extraordinary strength, courage, and selflessness shown by first responders and citizens on that day. We share “We Remember Them,” a moving poem written by Sylvan Kamens and Rabbi Jack Riemer prior to September 11th, but one that has since become a meaningful part of memorials honoring loved ones and first responders impacted by that day.

  • It’s #FlashbackFriday! Did you know the same architectural firm behind one of Seattle’s most recognizable landmarks also designed Bayview? John Graham & Company, led by renowned Seattle architect John Graham Jr., was the visionary firm behind Bayview’s iconic design. The firm is also well known for designing Northgate Shopping Center, one of the nation's first shopping malls. At the same time Bayview was opening its doors in 1961, Graham & Company was working to gain approval for another ambitious Seattle project: the 550-foot Century 21 Space Needle for the World's Fair. Fun fact: John Graham Jr.'s mother, Hallie Graham, was among the very first residents to move into Bayview on April 5, 1961.

  • Every resident has a story. Some have even written books. At Bayview, we're launching a new series featuring resident authors. Meet our first featured author, resident Linda Mack, who spent the 1980s patrolling the streets of Seattle as an Animal Control Officer. But that title only tells part of the story. Her days were filled with far more than dogs. Pigeons, ferrets, goats, cats, monkeys, snakes, squirrels, rats, and even the occasional bighorn sheep all became part of her unforgettable adventures. In her book, Linda shares some of her funniest, most surprising, and most memorable stories from her years on the job. Check out Linda’s book here: https://lnkd.in/g7S7bhbB
