Sustained giving deserves more than a “make this monthly” checkbox. Rescue Missions need a more intentional strategy for turning donor generosity into long-term commitment...and that strategy needs to start by listening to your donors. That’s why BDI invested in a robust research study focused specifically Rescue Mission sustainers. Through extended, one-on-one interviews with Rescue Mission donors, we explored the beliefs, experiences, motivations and concerns shaping recurring giving decisions. Five findings stand out: • Faith can play an important role in generosity • Personal experiences can deepen commitment • Sustainers want meaningful communication and clear proof of impact • Flexibility and control matter to the donors • Many potential sustainers need a more personal invitation to give this way The takeaway for Rescue Missions is clear: Sustained giving requires intentional donor pathways that invite commitment, reinforce impact and strengthen the relationship over time. This research gives leaders practical insight to begin building those pathways, grounded in what donors actually told us they want and need. And for BDI, it’s another step in our broader commitment to helping nonprofits move from transactional giving toward deeper, more sustainable generosity. 🔗 Full article link in the comments #SustainerGiving #MonthlyGiving #RescueMissions #FundraisingStrategy #DonorEngagement
