Join us Friday, October 9, for the JPS RN Hiring Event, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.    As the public hospital for this community, we care for anyone who comes through our doors, and our nurses are the ones who make that real every day. We are interviewing for Critical Care, Labor and Delivery, Antepartum/Gyn, Resource Pool and the Emergency Department. You will meet with the leaders you would actually work alongside.  You will need an ADN or BSN, a current RN license, and at least six months of RN experience. This week JPS is celebrating National APP Week, and we wanted to begin by answering a question we hear often: what is an APP? APP stands for Advanced Practice Provider, a term that includes nurse practitioners and physician assistants. They work alongside our physicians across nearly every service line, diagnosing, treating, prescribing, and managing care for patients throughout our system. Advanced Practice Providers expand access to care and often serve as the provider a patient sees most consistently, which makes them central to both continuity and outcomes. 💛JPS in the Community 💛 The community we serve reaches further than Tarrant County! Last week we welcomed eight nursing students from Nagaoka, Japan, Fort Worth’s sister city, for a firsthand look at healthcare at JPS. The visit gave students a chance to compare how healthcare professionals are educated and trained in the United States and Japan. They met with senior leaders, learned about our role as a teaching hospital, and explored several clinical areas, including the operating room, where they saw advanced surgical technology and how surgical teams work together to care for patients. Outside the hospital, students experienced Fort Worth with local host families through the Fort Worth Sister Cities International program. Thank you to the volunteers, our Academic Affairs team, panel speakers, and every team member who shared their time and expertise throughout the day. One year ago, JPS moved its Psychiatric Emergency Center from the 10th floor of the hospital into a new expanded facility built specificaly for people experiencing a behavioral health crisis. Since its opening in September of 2025, the PEC has cared for more than 26,000 patients in a space designed around what they actually need, with more room, a calmer environment and easier access for the families who come with them.
