World Cleanup Day is more than just an event. It is a reminder that if we all join together for a common goal, we can create impacts beyond our boundaries. “Not in My Backyard.” But where, then? Environmental challenges cannot be solved by simply shifting pollution, waste, traffic or other unwanted activities from one neighbourhood to another. The NIMBY mindset often reflects a simple reality: we want development and infrastructure, but we don’t want its impacts near us. The way forward is not to reject necessary infrastructure, but to ensure it is: 🌱 Scientifically planned 🏙️ Environmentally sustainable ♻️ Properly managed 🤝 Transparent and inclusive 👥 Built with Jan Bhagidari Clean air, clean water and a healthy environment are not someone else’s responsibility.
