PLEASE DONATE This weekend, my fiancée Laonie Hunter is taking on the London Marathon Events in support of Cardiomyopathy UK . This cause is deeply personal to her. Cardiomyopathy runs in her family, and she has had to go through regular testing herself, including clearance just to be able to take on this marathon. What makes this even more special is that Laonie only started running three years ago. It began as a challenge to prove to herself that she could do it, and to make our boys proud. She has achieved that and so much more. Since Christmas, she has trained relentlessly. Early mornings, long runs in the rain, and all while being an incredible mum and working close to full time. Recently, she has been dealing with shin splints and has spent the last month battling bronchitis, on antibiotics and other medication. Despite that, she has kept going. Cardiomyopathy is often described as a silent killer, something we are seeing more of in sport in recent years. Raising awareness and funding is vital. Times are tough for everyone, but if you are able to spare even 25 pence, it would mean a great deal and go towards a truly important cause.
