    Hey so I have completed the first draft of my completely bonkers, totally fun, secretly semiserious new novel. It's 128,000 words, which I know sounds long, but trust me, it could easily have been twice that; there's a lot packed into those (~500) pages.

    So it's been especially rewarding to work with the Bodleian & the Bibliotheca on this program I (co-)direct, storing 17K open source repos—including FastLED by & our friend , tragically no longer with us—with them in perpetuity.

    The Archive Program just delivered GitHub's most significant open source projects—17k repos archived for 1,000 years in beautiful museum-quality cases to three of the world’s great libraries—continuing our mission of preserving OSS for future generations.

    Years later I a month or so wandering Egypt. My favourite city was Alexandria, where I unexpectedly discovered a rebuilt Great Library, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, in a vast and gleaming compound overlooking the Mediterranean. I spent most of a day in there.

    When I was 16, I spent a month at an educational program in Oxford, during which, I vividly recall, I was shown what seemed to be a standard-issue street sewer grate... but was actually above a tunnel used by the Bodleian Library, so the smell of books wafted from it all day.

    I kinda wish people would stop dunking on conservative hypocrisy. They really, truly don't care. The notion that they get good things while others don't, while others are restricted in ways they aren't, isn't just acceptable to them; it is deeply fundamental to their worldview.

    There is nothing (some) Americans hate more than good things happening to other Americans, because they take it for granted that America is a zero-sum game.

    This student loan situation is demonstrating how much people actually hate when good things happen for others, and I want us to really examine that.

    I know the knee-jerk reaction to every product change is to say "I don't like it," but even taking that into account... I don't like it, and I don't think cloning others' clones is the road to Twitter's success.

    Does the fleets thing stress anyone else out? Like I use Twitter to get away from IG stories, not have it follow me around on every platform reminding me that I don’t have makeup on

    Given the massive amount of college debt held by working class people, it's a great idea. Guide for the perplexed: not every college is a tweedy liberal arts campus of small castles in some New England town.

    Dems are starting to lose the working class vote and decide one of the first big policy pushes they should do is on college debt forgiveness?
