After 20+ years leading merchandising, product development, and inventory planning at companies like Amazon, Sundance Catalog, and J. Crew, I launched DeSpain Consulting in 2024 and took my first AI course with Tyler Fisk and Sara Davison to go deeper on workflow automation. The no-code approach clicked immediately with how my operational brain works. Once I built my first workflow in Cassidy, I couldn't stop seeing opportunities for automated efficiency everywhere.

The biggest misconception is that you need a technical background to work with AI tools and automation. Courses like AI Build Lab and tools like Cassidy have changed that, and once I started working through real projects with my own business problems, I realized the barrier is much lower than people think.

Running paid social manually was eating time I needed for more strategic work, and ad platforms are notoriously clunky to navigate, so I built a programmatic ad engine to solve both problems. It generates persona-matched creative at scale, pairs real product photography with on brand AI-written copy (which I critiqued and edited where necessary) across audiences and formats, and uploads directly to Meta and LinkedIn. A live performance dashboard surfaces daily recommendations, and an automated testimonial pipeline turns customer reviews into campaign-ready graphics continuously.
