  • As #ElectricShip systems move toward more modular and scalable designs, stability and effective power sharing become key challenges.  The Dual Active Bridge (DAB) framework is a strong fit for naval #PowerSystems, enabling converters to run in parallel and scale power as needed. Provided their control is properly coordinated.  Matthew Belanger, a Masters power electronics student at our partner USC Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing and an electrical engineer at Integer, will present new research on a novel “synergetic droop control” approach at the American Society of Naval Engineers’ 2026 Advanced Machinery Technology Symposium. The research is co-authored with Andy Wong and Enrico Santi at USC.  ⚡ 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁: 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲, 𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗼𝗿.

  • WXXV-TV/Morris Network covered the grand opening of our new Mississippi office in USM's Roger F. • Integer’s COO and cofounder Joshua Knight recently joined Kyle Killian on The Refit Podcast to share the realities of innovating in #DefenseTech – from scaling fast in a legacy industry to navigating complex product development. The biggest takeaway: leadership is less about systems and more about relationships. The teams who win are the ones who stay intentional about goals, people, and how they operate. “𝘗𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘥𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴. 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐩𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡. 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞'𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐜𝐨-𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐭. Joshua Knight didn't just start a company, he bet his family's financial security on a gap he saw in maritime defense that no one else wanted to touch. On the latest episode of The Refit Podcast, Josh (Co-Founder & COO of Integer Technologies) gets brutally honest about what it really takes to build an innovation company inside one of the most traditional, risk-averse industries on the planet. Here's what stayed with me from our conversation: → The Navy doesn't hand out contracts. Understanding the procurement process wasn't just helpful, it was existential. → Bootstrapping is a cash management game. Every dollar spent is a decision about survival. Joshua had to ruthlessly prioritize before Integer ever had traction. → Scaling breaks communication. What worked at 5 people falls apart at 50. The leaders who figure this out early win. The ones who don't lose their best people. → Private equity is a relationship, not a rescue. Capital without cultural alignment can sink a company faster than no capital at all. → Vision without execution is just a story. Josh breaks down how Integer turns long-range goals into the week-by-week work that actually moves the needle. If you've ever wondered what entrepreneurship in national security actually looks like... not the pitch deck version, the real version... this episode is for you. 🎧 Link in the comments. #TheRefitPodcast #Entrepreneurship #DefenseInnovation #Leadership #MaritimeTechnology #FounderStories #VeteranLeadership #StartupLife #NationalSecurity #PrivateEquity https://lnkd.in/g4sKjCjr

  • With global tensions rising and maritime competition intensifying in the wake of Operation Epic Fury, there is an urgent need to revitalize our domestic #shipbuilding industry or risk the severe consequences of vulnerability.  T.J. McKelvey writes that #DigitalEngineering is rapidly becoming the decisive edge, shrinking timelines, reducing risk, and redefining how the next generation of fleets gets built. Read more: https://lnkd.in/e9jFnsNM
