Want to join an engineering led organization building hardware and software systems that detect, measure, and monitor radiation in real-world environments?
Their technology is deployed across nuclear energy, medical imaging, and industrial safety-environments where accuracy, reliability, and trust genuinely matter.
They’re now investing heavily in data, analytics, and AI, and are building a centralized data platform from scratch to support the next phase of the business. The goal is to move beyond standalone systems and begin turning the vast amounts of data they generate into scalable, insight-driven and intelligent capabilities.
This work sits within a newly formed Enterprise Data and AI Platform team, which is responsible for building the foundation that everything else will scale on. The team is combining platform engineering principles - reusable, self-service tooling with core data engineering capabilities such as pipelines, modelling, and analytics. It’s a greenfield environment with a strong emphasis on building things properly from the ground up.
They’re looking for an Engineering Manager who enjoys leading from the front. Someone who is comfortable owning delivery, shaping technical direction, and developing a team, while still staying close enough to the technology to guide design decisions and support engineers day to day. The role will involve leading a small, high-impact team across both platform and data engineering, with responsibility for the reliability, scalability, and evolution of the platform.
From a technical perspective, a strong foundation in cloud infrastructure on Azure, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD practices is important, alongside a working understanding of data engineering tools like Databricks and Spark. What matters most, though, is the ability to operate in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment and help build both the team and the platform.
The role is fully remote within the US and due to the nature of the work, candidates must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
Salary is up to $185k base salary + bonus + equity.
If you enjoy building teams, owning platforms end-to-end, and working on systems that have real-world impact, this is worth a conversation.
