Energy Management Corporation is seeking a technical leader based in Denver—ideally an Electrical Engineer—with deep expertise in VFDs, motors, and control systems, along with a solid understanding of power quality solutions.
This position blends applications engineering, field service leadership, and technical business management. You’ll lead a small team while working directly with customers to deliver solutions, support business growth, and strengthen our presence in industrial markets.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Field Expertise
Provide advanced technical support for VFDs, motor applications, and control system integration
Lead troubleshooting and optimization of motor-driven systems in industrial environments
Apply power quality knowledge (harmonics, power factor, IEEE/IEC compliance) to enhance drive and motor solutions
Oversee field service efforts to ensure timely and effective issue resolution
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of office staff and field technicians
Manage scheduling, resources, and project priorities to ensure successful execution
Foster a safety-first, customer-focused team culture
Business Development
Partner with sales teams to identify growth opportunities in VFD, motor control, and power quality solutions
Support proposals, cost estimates, and client presentations with technical expertise
Act as a trusted advisor to industrial customers
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or a related technical field
7+ years of experience with VFDs, motors, and industrial control systems, including field service
Understanding of power quality concepts such as harmonics, reactive power, and monitoring tools
Hands-on experience with drive commissioning, motor protection, and troubleshooting
Proven ability to lead teams and manage projects
Strong business acumen with experience in customer-facing roles and technical proposals
PE or Master Electrician license (preferred)
Preferred Background
Experience with OEMs such as ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Eaton, Rockwell Automation, or Yaskawa
Background in applications engineering or field service leadership
Combination of hands-on technical expertise and customer-facing business experience
