March marked two occasions recognizing women; International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day, celebrating the strength of women, especially working mothers who carry double responsibilities beyond what is seen. In Jordan, women continue to face challenges, as reflected in the Global Gender Gap Report: Jordan ranks 122 out of 148 on the gender gap index, 146 out of 148 in women’s labor-force participation, and women’s unemployment stands at 23%. Yet, when given the opportunity, women excel; Jordan reports over 50% female representation among senior officials and managers. Supporting women starts with awareness, and in this spirit, the team came together in a pledge activity, committing to support women in our community.
