As the space ecosystem expands, questions around resilience, security, and cross-border collaboration are becoming harder to ignore. Today, we can announce that Eutelsat has signed a multi-launch agreement with MaiaSpace for future launches of our OneWeb LEO satellites, starting from 2027. This adds a new European launch option to our portfolio and further strengthens the resilience and continuity of service for our customers worldwide. Diversifying our access to space is essential. It allows us to deploy and replenish our constellation efficiently and continue delivering high-speed, low-latency connectivity at scale. I was delighted to visit MaiaSpace earlier this week ahead of the contract signing to meet the team and hear about the upcoming factory on site in Vernon. Working with MaiaSpace reflects our commitment to supporting a competitive and sovereign European space ecosystem. As connectivity is increasingly recognised as critical infrastructure, ensuring reliable and resilient access to orbit is just as critical.

Scottish Enterprise's international team, Scottish Development International was delighted to join partners in Singapore for a productive programme of engagements at the Singapore Space Summit / Singapore Airshow this week. Reshaping Europe’s Space Landscape Open Cosmos has been authorised to operate two high priority satellite spectrum filings that belong to the Principality of Liechtenstein. By securing these filings, Open Cosmos is ready to build and operate a new secure LEO broadband satellite constellation. Our ambition is to diversify the options for critical infrastructure and digital resilience for Europe and the world. This is a turning point for European space sovereignty. In the words of our CEO, Rafel Jorda Siquier: "Securing these filings is a defining moment. We gain an invaluable opportunity to realise Europe’s space ambitions and true potential." As an established operator with a decade of experience and a 100% mission success rate in orbit, we are moving rapidly: - The first two satellites of this constellation will launch imminently. - These satellites were manufactured at our UK headquarters, with vital contributions from our teams in Spain, Portugal, and Greece.
