🚨 ISC West Breaking: Action-CS and Evolon have announced a partnership to deliver a fully integrated detection-to-deterrence-to-dispatch workflow. Action-CS Active Deterrence Units add strobes and speakers to any existing camera. Evolon layers in AI-powered analytics to extend threat detection range and filters out up to 98.5% of false alarms. When a verified threat is confirmed, the monitoring team handles audio talk-down, active deterrence, and police dispatch. APIs and software are rewriting what integration means in this industry. Before ISC West I posted: “Will we see the same fragmented systems, the same roster of companies, and the same disconnected solutions yet again? I’d like to believe the answer is no, but I suspect I’ll be disappointed.” Well… I wasn’t wrong. The floor had the usual suspects, and one oversized booth stole the show with a full-on March Madness basketball gimmick — hoops, branded balls, giveaways, loud music, the works. Longest lines on the floor. Everyone was laughing and shooting hoops. But when you stepped past the games and asked real questions about integration, how it actually connects to the rest of a security system, or solving real fragmentation issues… the conversation went nowhere. Meanwhile, the booths that showed practical workflows, actual interoperability, and weren’t afraid to talk about the hard parts of making systems work together engaged in way more meaningful conversations. Same story as always: easy spectacle wins the crowd, but it doesn’t move the industry forward. End users keep picking the safe, familiar option because it’s simpler. Going into the final lap of MWC - still running at full steam. What an amazing show with so many valuable contacts and exchanges shaping the future of mobile communications. As networks evolve, O-RU conformance testing gets more demanding - especially once massive MIMO and beamforming enter the picture. When an O-RU supports beamforming in downlink and uplink, the scope of WG4 conformance testing needs to be broadened. At MWC Barcelona 2026, I’m looking forward to discussions on how we verify O-RUs that support massive MIMO with beamforming, in line with O-RAN ALLIANCE WG4 Conformance Specification (WG4.CONF). Together with VIAVI, the goal is a practical validation approach that checks correct beamforming command handling and enables a clear path from functional verification to conformance and performance validation.
