Turkish Diplomatic Archives

The research article titled “Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Dışişleri Bakanlığı Arşivcilik Çalışmaları (1960-1980)” written by Mehmet Erdoğan, Foreign Affairs Expert at the Directorate General for Diplomatic Archives, was published in the Journal of Information Management (2024, 7/2).

On the occasion of the Turkish-Hungarian Cultural Year of 2024, the book titled “Türk-Macar Diplomatik Arşiv Belgelerinde Türkiye-Macaristan Siyasi İlişkileri (1922-1933)”, prepared in collaboration with the Embassy of Hungary in Ankara, was published in December 2024. It includes documents about our country’s relations with Hungary between 1922-1933. The book can be accessed from the “Publications” tab of this website.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye, “Türk Diplomatik Arşivi Belgelerinde Millî Mücadele Diplomasimiz (1919-1920)” which is a compilation of 445 documents from 1919-1920 period of the National War, covering the diplomatic relations of Türkiye with Armenia, Soviet Russia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, France, England, Italy and the USA was published in March 2024. The research article titled "Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Dışişleri Arşivcilik Çalışmaları (1919-1960)" written by Mehmet Erdoğan, Foreign Affairs Expert at the Directorate General for Diplomatic Archives, was published in the special issue of “Tarih Araştırmaları Dergisi” (Issue 75).

The second edition of our book titled "Türk ve Fransız Diplomatik Arşiv Belgeleriyle 100. Yılında Alemdar Vapuru Olayı" which contains documents related to the only naval battle of Turkish National War, the Alemdar Ferry Incident, was published in March 2023. The book titled "Türk Diplomatik Arşivi Belgelerinde Filistin (1922-1948)” compiling the documents of Turkish Diplomatic Archive on the developments in Palestine between 1922-1948 and the reflections of these developments in third countries from the perspective of our diplomats, was published in March 2023. This book can be accessed from the "Publications" tab of this website.

The research article titled “Cumhuriyet Döneminde Osmanlı Hariciyesine Ait Hazine-i Evrak ", authored by Mehmet Erdoğan, Foreign Affairs Expert at the Directorate General for Diplomatic Archives, was published in the 4th issue (2022) of “Hazine-i Evrak Arşiv ve Tarih Araştırmaları Dergisi”.

Our book titled “Türk Diplomatik Arşivi Belgeleriyle 100. Yılında Mudanya Askerî Sözleşmesi Tutanaklar-Belgeler" compiled on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Mudanya Armistice, was published in December 2022. This book can be accessed from the "Publications" tab of this website.

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Slovenia, book titled "Türkiye-Slovenya Diplomatik İlişki Tesisinin 30. Yıldönümü" made in cooperation with the Archives of the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was published in December 2022. This book can be accessed from the "Publications" tab of this website.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Ankara Agreement signed between the Government of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye and France on October 20, 1921, publication titled "Türk ve Fransız Diplomatik Arşiv Belgeleriyle 100. Yılında 1921 Ankara Anlaşması ", prepared with the contributions of the Archives of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was published in August 2022. Our book titled “1950: Latin Amerika Ülkeleriyle İlişkilerimizde Bir Dönüm Noktası", which was done in cooperation with the Directorate General of Diplomatic Archives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ankara University Latin American Studies Research and Application Center (LAMER) and sheds light on the history of the diplomatic relations between Türkiye and Latin American countries in terms of the documents it contains, was published in January 2022.
