Speaking to OE24, Managing Director Siegmund Kahlbacher, has confirmed that Comer City will not be progressing into the next phase of the bidding process to host the Eurovision Song Contest. Comer City is located in Ebreichsdorf’s around 20km from Vienna’s International Airport, it previously stated it had plans for the creation of a temporary venue which would accommodate 20,000 people, and space for a further 30,000 at a public viewing event.

Comer City and Ebreichsdorf have opted not to progress with a bid due to the lead times for decisions being considered too short, for Ebreichsdorf to create a bid. Comer City had been the driving force behind the bid, however ORF rules state that only Municipalities could bid to host the competition, not private entities.
