All good resolutions. Lynn -- the game was magic -- and more than 2.3 million people played it. I think games, puzzles, all kinds of things can be a fun way to help spread awareness for a writer's (and artist's) work online. But as you know, bottom-line, it's the story that counts. There's the rub. Still, fun is always worth creating.

Maybe I'll get one right one day; although, as an artist I found it far easier to get an agent, I signed up with writersbookpublishing in Florida; because I think people enjoy my illustrations more than my writing, maybe. All things come to us through our subconscious and if there really is nothing new under the sun, then we'd better just keep finding new ways to look at them huh?

. . . when you understood villain's motives, the finish had to ultimately be like being on a speeding train wreck you're in that you can't get out of, as it hurtles toward the terminus. I liked that one. But at third of a million words, I was crap-scared of starting sequels if they wouldn't sell; I was making a chance that I could gather all classic monsters and give them my slant on them.

Kills all hero's friends; so as to unleash five dark souls to run amok with him, but reveals that to kill him, hero must ultimately become him. . .

I found any of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles good for their whimsy, and their historical vividness; I dunno if it was accurate, but it painted pictures I could visualise as I read. Memnoch the Devil was good (call me Wynken de Wilde, if you've read it; you'll understand).

If you feel like horror, (sorry, I haven't read you work yet, so I'm being presumptuous), in terms of Stephen King, I think I found Cujo the most vividly frightening; especially mom and Tad in the car in the yard with the beast. Clive Barker is wonderfully visceral (an underlying need to take human kind by their face and then deliberately thrust it into their own dark heart). . .

Anything is good; but everything is relative. If you haven't read any of them already, I'd recommend you go for a Terry Pratchett Discworld if you really want to laugh til you have to pee. He is sharply satirical with a boundless wit; some of the humor is high-brow, and some of it is low-brow. All of the Discworld books are amazingly funny. . .

Ghost Story by Peter Straub. If you like high fantasy might I recommend Steven Erikson's Malazan series. There are flaws in the story telling ie: knowledge assumed and no explination but over all worth the read. It is 10 books. Or you might want to try any of the books from Graveside Tales.
