Behind every breakthrough is a team willing to ask the hard questions. Krishnateja, Andy, & Karthick set out to answer one: could AI become as powerful a partner for medicinal chemists as it is for software engineers? Working alongside Nimbus Therapeutics, they reimagined the entire workflow. Through supervised & reinforcement fine-tuning, their team trained a single Amazon Nova model to predict 11 critical molecular properties simultaneously, matching the accuracy of multiple purpose-built systems. What makes this extraordinary isn't just the technical result, it's what it means for chemists. Scientists can now have a conversation with the model about their data, ask for reasoning, & explore molecular modifications, all in one place. With drug discovery taking 10-15 years & costing $2B+ per treatment, this is the kind of work that could meaningfully change what's possible for patients.

Two awards. One milestone a decade in the making. Last week, Amazon won not one, but two sector awards at the targetjobs UK National Emerging Talent Awards, shaped by the voices of 60,000 students. 🏆 Best Retail Employer — a title held since 2016. 🏆 Best Tech Employer — a first. Ever. Since the award's inception. That second one matters. It reflects what students across the UK are saying about Amazon as a place to build a career in tech, and that's not something we take lightly. We know there's still a lot to do. These awards are a moment to acknowledge progress, not a signal to slow down. To every student who shared their voice in this survey: thank you. You're the reason this work matters. To the entire EMEA Amazon University Talent Acquisition team: congratulations! Proud of this recognition. Committed to earning it. 🙌 Matthew Parker Iain McFadyen Douglas Garner Jessica Brennan Charlotte Rose Phillip Thomas Katie Leyland Aimee Everett Christophe Dalon Binita Mehta Erin O'Donnell Alan Giles Vanessa Heidenreich Laura Juan Arroyo Paul Grammaticopoulos Catherine Favret Trina Kong Lucy C. • Curious about what it's like to work in AI? Joanna Rekik is an AI Content Expert at Amazon AGI in Gdansk. After building a career spanning law, business leadership at Mercedes-Benz, and founding two startups, she discovered an entirely new challenge at Amazon. "Each day looks different, which is why I love this job," Joanna shares. "I'm teaching AI for a living through complex workflows. I feel challenged daily, which is great. Seeing how AI works 'from the backstage' has been incredibly interesting and eye-opening. If you're naturally curious with good attention to detail and want to ride the AI wave, absolutely go for it!"

  • Working in tech isn't just for people who grew up coding. Amazon needs people who keep physical infrastructure running for our data centers & that might be you. We're hiring electrical technicians, mechanical specialists, HVAC professionals & facilities managers right now. Military background? Utility experience? Trades expertise? You're already qualified. AWS is where the cloud becomes real & we need people who know how to make critical systems work.

Millions of Uber trips start with a tap. Behind each one: AWS infrastructure processing matches in milliseconds. 🚙 Now, Uber is expanding on AWS—using Graviton4 for real-time Trip Serving Zones and piloting Trainium3 to train AI models for driver matching, arrival predictions, and personalized recommendations that will scale globally. "Uber operates at a scale where milliseconds matter," said Kamran Zargahi, VP of Engineering at Uber. The result: faster matches, smarter experiences, and reliable service for hundreds of millions of daily users worldwide. Check out the details: https://go.aws/41fAmwr

  • At Amazon, science starts with the customer and works backwards. "We don't do pure research. We start with customer problems and work backwards," explains Amjad, Director, Applied Science. Our teams formulate problems, originate science-powered products, and see their research create real customer impact. From AI innovation to product development, our scientists work on challenges that matter - at a scale that transforms industries. Ready to make an impact?

  • What does it mean to deploy AI to 600 million devices? For Applied Scientist Amod Agrawal, it means solving challenges that don't exist anywhere else. "What works in labs can fall apart in real homes. But that's where the real innovation happens," says Amod. At Amazon, our science teams tackle problems at unprecedented scale and the solutions we build impact entire industries, not just customers.

  • Our custom chip lab in Austin is "a cross between a high school shop class & a Hollywood set," according to TechCrunch. 🛠️🔬 At Annapurna Labs, our engineers work in a fast-paced, innovative culture during 'bring-up' events, welding tiny integrated circuit components through microscopes & solving challenges that have never been seen before. The result? Trainium chips breaking performance records & delivering substantial cost savings to customers. Ready to help build the next generation of cloud computing infrastructure? We took TechCrunch on a tour of Amazon’s custom chip lab, and here’s what they thought 👇 “It looks like a cross between a high school shop class and a Hollywood set for a high-end lab, except the engineers are dressed in jeans, not white lab coats.” Julie Bort is one of the few tech editors to see AWS’s Annapurna Labs in action. And her take on the unconventional lab is spot on. During the visit, Julie walked through rows of workstations topped with open server sleds, watched an engineer weld tiny integrated circuit components by way of microscope, and snapped a selfie with chip PR lead Doron Aronson inside the lab’s mini data center. I mean, how could you not? See that selfie and more from Julie’s visit to the lab: https://go.aws/4d9qcoe

  • Think software engineers code all day? Think again. 💭💫 ❌ Myth: SDEs spend all day coding. ✅ Reality: Some days might only include 10% coding. At Amazon, engineering excellence goes beyond writing code. The role combines system design, metrics analysis, documentation & deep technical understanding to build solutions that scale. Just ask Johnson, one of our Software Development Engineers, who spends most days diving into complex services, analyzing metrics & collaborating on documentation.
