Trevor Laughton reposted thisHuge week for Cloudflare!Trevor Laughton reposted thisAgents are here to stay, so we're building the infrastructure to run them at scale. Cloudflare's kicking off Agents week with four launches: 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗯𝗼𝘅𝗲𝘀 𝗚𝗔: Every AI agent gets its own persistent computer on our global network. A real shell, filesystem, background processes. Starts on demand, picks up where it left off. No containers to manage. 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗯𝗼𝘅 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗵: Your agent can call external APIs without ever seeing the credentials. Zero-trust egress that solves the biggest enterprise objection to AI agents: "how do I trust it with my secrets?" 𝗗𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗢𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘁𝘀: AI-generated apps now get their own isolated SQLite databases. State and persistence, no provisioning required. 𝗰𝗳 𝗖𝗟𝗜: One unified CLI across nearly 3,000 Cloudflare API operations. Built for developers and AI agents alike. We're not just talking about an agentic future. We're shipping the platform for it. Follow along for more announcements throughout the week: https://lnkd.in/gRdy4Qzb

Trevor Laughton reposted thisTrevor Laughton reposted thisNEW: After months of dogfooding and tens of customer conversations, we're releasing Cloudflare's reference architecture for enterprise MCP deployments! Cloudflare has aggressively adopted Model Context Protocol (MCP) as a core part of our AI strategy, across the whole company, including employees in product, sales, marketing, finance, and engineering. How do we make this easier, cheaper and more secure? (See figure) 💻 We view local MCP servers as a security and supply chain risk. Instead MCP servers for the whole company are managed by a centralized team, put through our security and CI/CD platform, and hosted remotely on Cloudflare' Workers 👀 We use Cloudflare Access to provide SSO, MFA and device context, so that our internal MCP servers can only be accessed by authorized employees 🚪 We use MCP Server Portals to make it easy for employees to discover the MCP servers that are available to them, and also to provide our IT and Security team with centralized logging, visibility and policy control 🤖 We use AI Gateway to cost control and audit the traffic that our employee's MCP clients send to AI models (LLMs) All this is in a blog, linked in comments. The blog also announces the release of two totally new concepts: ☑️ You can use Cloudflare's Code Mode in your MCP Server Portal now. This can drastically reduce token costs associated with MCP. We've seen it drop costs by 99% in some cases! ☑️ We show how to use Cloudflare One's Secure Web Gateway to detect unauthorized remote MCP traffic. Control Shadow MCP on your enterprise network! This is a giant effort that reflects the work of tons and tons of people inside Cloudflare. Thank you to everyone, including this very partial list: Matt Carey, Jose Ivan A., Ann Ming Samborski, James Royal, Mike Nomitch, Liam Reese, Rian van der Merwe, Rajesh Bhatia, Ayush Thakur, Yumna M., Simon Thorpe, Gonzalo Chavarri, Maddy Onyehara, and Haley Campbell.

Trevor Laughton liked thisTrevor Laughton liked thisCloudflare is one of the best front-end security platforms available right now. If you're not using it to protect your internet-facing traffic, you're probably working harder than you need to. But here's something worth saying out loud: Cloudflare at the edge doesn't replace the need for strong infrastructure security inside your environment. Your branch offices, your data centres, your internal network perimeter, that's a different problem, and it needs a different solution. For that layer, Palo Alto Networks is our go-to. It's the market leader in next-generation firewall and perimeter security for a reason. The threat intelligence, the policy granularity, the visibility across branch and data centre infrastructure, nothing else comes close for organisations that take their internal security posture seriously. The way we think about it: Cloudflare handles what's coming at you from the internet. Palo Alto handles what's happening inside and between your sites. Together, they give you a genuinely strong security architecture from edge to core. If you're trying to figure out how these pieces fit together for your environment, that's exactly the kind of conversation we have every day at AltTab. Happy to help you think it through. Did you know that Splunk Application Performance Monitoring (#APM) directly supports the Australian Government Digital Service Standard by ensuring that #digital government services are user-friendly, measurable, and subject to continuous improvement. Splunk APM provides full-fidelity, always-on tracing that monitors every transaction within an application, allowing agencies to quickly detect and diagnose performance bottlenecks, errors, and latency issues. This capability is crucial for delivering fast and reliable services, which are key components of a user-friendly experience, preventing citizen frustration from slow or broken applications. Furthermore, APM's real-time dashboards, intelligent alerting on RED (Rate, Error, Duration) metrics, and root cause analysis capabilities enable agencies to measure the performance of their digital services accurately and identify areas for optimization. This data-driven approach facilitates continuous improvement, allowing teams to proactively address issues and enhance service quality based on actual application behavior, aligning perfectly with the standard's emphasis on ongoing refinement. 🚨 *Cisco SD-WAN* users, heads up: if you haven’t heard, there a max severity (10.0) vulnerability just out that is being actively targeted exploited in the wild by “sophisticated cyber actors” according to ASD, CISA and NSA. From Cisco: “Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN Controller systems that are exposed to the internet and that have ports exposed to the internet are at risk of exposure to compromise” TLDR: if yours is exposed to the internet, it is going to get compromised in the coming day(s) or hours. ⏰ Now that they know they’ve been discovered, the threat actor will likely try to compromise as many devices as they can before patches are rolled out. Go patch now.

The Australian cyber threat landscape is currently experiencing a volatile surge in targeted attacks. At Lean Security, our latest incident response telemetry has identified a rapid escalation in automated and highly sophisticated campaigns targeting critical infrastructure, spanning from government agencies to the FinTech sector. For C-level executives and security leaders, understanding and mitigating these rapidly evolving vectors is critical. Our newest briefing outlines several primary threats currently active in the wild: 1. Novel AI System Exploits: Emerging prompt injection and data poisoning attacks targeting integrated Large Language Models to bypass safety guardrails and expose backend systems. 2. Advanced API Abuse: High-volume exploitation of Broken Object Level Authorisation and Mass Assignment vulnerabilities, heavily impacting the FinTech and SaaS ecosystems. 3. Cloud Infrastructure Compromise: Automated exploitation of misconfigured cloud environments, leaked credentials, and overly permissive access management roles. 4. Sector-Specific Campaigns: State-sponsored reconnaissance using compromised IoT edge devices, ransomware syndicates leveraging stolen VPN credentials in healthcare and education, and modernized supply chain attacks hitting eCommerce platforms. As threat actors operationalize exploits at an unprecedented pace, a proactive and hardened security posture is no longer optional. We highly encourage you to visit our website to read the full article. The complete threat intelligence briefing provides a detailed analysis of these vulnerabilities along with actionable, strategic defense recommendations to secure your infrastructure. The Australian Signals Directorate has released its Annual Cyber Threat Report 2024–25, and it’s a stark reminder that cyber risk is now woven into every layer of our economy. Incidents are up, costs are higher, and the attacks are smarter. The average cost of a large-business cybercrime has tripled, while critical infrastructure attacks continue to climb. We’re also seeing adversaries adopt “living off the land” tactics like using legitimate tools already in the network, and AI is accelerating the sophistication of phishing and social engineering. What stood out to me most is how many organisations only find out about issues after being notified by external bodies. That signals a visibility gap. The fundamental of asset awareness, logging, patching, credential hygiene still matter most. But equally, collaboration and reporting across industries are where we build resilience. Cybersecurity isn’t an IT problem anymore. It’s a shared operational responsibility, from leadership to frontline teams. Full report here: https://lnkd.in/g-MTDakq

There is a "massive" opportunity for partners to get involved in the operational aspect of observability, according to Craig Magee (MAICD), CTO, Australia and New Zealand at Splunk. He said there is a chance for Australian partners to be a conduit and link between leveraging data for multiple use cases across security. "There's a big play for the partner community around the standardisation and simplification of tooling," Magee said.
