As February comes to a close, so does the Command Center... But not before I showcase this.. I made a showcase video as well! In this quick 2:40 watch you get introduced to the Command Center, and its surrounding structures. You'll see the geometry and playable spaces a little more in depth that you could with my last post. The background shots even showcase a little bit of the map as a whole, which will soon be completed with multiple developed poi's, in between gameplay, and terrain structuring! Why many game projects fail at the prototype stage Many teams think prototypes fail because of budget, manpower, or timelines. From our experience, the real reason is simpler: > the prototype never validates whether players want to keep playing after the first few minutes. > Art can be rough. Code can be messy. But if the gameplay loop is unclear, unfun, or unmeasurable early on, everything built later is based on assumptions. Stopping early is not failure. It’s often the most cost-efficient decision a studio can make.

Most Steam pages list features. The winners pick one verb. Difference: lists get compared, words get remembered. Your Steam page probably has four genre tags, three bullet points about systems, and a tagline that could work for any competitor. That's not positioning. That's hoping quality surfaces. It won't. Players decide in 0.3 seconds: "Do I know what this is?" If your answer requires explanation, you're already forgotten. Test this today: Mute your trailer Count to 10 seconds Ask a stranger: "What do I do in this game?" If they can't answer with one verb, you don't have a positioning problem. You have a design focus problem. The fix isn't more features. Just finished implementing the Death Crate + Loot Drop system for my 2D side-view battle royale, and I’m really excited about how it turned out. Here’s what it includes: • When a player is eliminated, a death crate spawns at their exact position • The crate stores the player’s inventory (items + amounts) • Interactive looting system • Clean UI display for available items • Smooth pickup feedback • Proper physics + collision handling so it feels grounded in the world Moments like this remind me why I enjoy building systems from scratch.
