  • A global security industry initiative originating in Australia, International Security Officers’ Day (ISOD) is a day to acknowledge the contribution of the 25 million private security personnel across the globe. At its core, the day is about acknowledging the often unsung and unrecognised security professionals. Their professionalism and measured actions in often challenging environments help create a safer environment for everyone. In the lead up to celebrating International Security Officers’ Day, we are seeking inspiring profiles from Security Officers who are making a difference and keeping us safe. Simply email marketing@asial.com.au by 20th June 2026 with: - The name of the Security Officer - A colour photo of them - The city/state they work in - A few words on what makes them a valued team member or what they enjoy about their role. We are happy to receive branded member ISOD profiles too.

  • Victorian security industry employers are receiving statutory notices from CoINVEST/LeavePlus and/or the Portable Long Service Authority (PLSA) seeking detailed, and often historical, employment and service information under long service leave and portability legislation. These notices are being issued in the context of the PLSA’s broader ‘Employer Obligation” compliance campaign, which is aimed at increasing awareness of registration, reporting and record-keeping obligations in the security, contract cleaning and community services industries. In today’s Member Bulletin (MBN129), we offer context and information regarding what these notices mean, how members can comply without conceding coverage or liability, and key legal and practical principles relevant to the Victorian security industry. Our ASIAL members receive vital communications which help to ensure they keep themselves and their business ahead of law and regulation changes.
