A big thank you to everyone who joined Pathzero and S&P Global Energy yesterday for an insightful and thoughtful discussion on portfolio-level climate data and risk management. Key themes throughout the discussion included the shift from a narrow focus on emissions reporting to a broader need for decision-ready climate risk data, and the evolving landscape of climate disclosure under the #AASBS2 / #ASRS standards. For investors and asset owners, this means capturing both transition risk (where emissions data is a critical input) and physical #ClimateRisk across increasingly complex portfolios. Bringing these datasets together – and ensuring they are reliable, comparable and actionable – is quickly becoming one of the biggest practical challenges in #ClimateReporting. One we’re set on solving. Thank you to all our panellists for sharing their perspectives, pictured here with Carl Prins, our co-founder & CEO: • Sannya Joseph, CFA, Head of APAC ESG Specialist, S&P Global Energy • Denise Healey, Senior Manager ESG, AMP • Ella Waite, Sustainability Manager, Avant Mutual • Max Peniket, Senior Analyst Responsible Investment, Aware Super As disclosure requirements evolve, organisations are looking for a single platform to centralise #ClimateData and build toward meeting ASRS requirements – turning complex datasets into insights that can support better investment and risk decisions. More to come as mandatory reporting for Group 2 approaches.

The unified climate data platform for institutional investors.
About us
Pathzero is the unified platform for portfolio climate data, built for institutional investors to manage climate-related financial risk across private and public markets. In private markets, Pathzero operates a secure, permissioned data network that enables portfolio companies to provide primary emissions and climate data directly to their investors. This network connects asset owners, fund managers, and reporting entities, improving data coverage, consistency, and provenance across private market portfolios—where reliable data has historically been hardest to obtain. For public markets, Pathzero integrates high-quality climate datasets from leading third-party providers, enabling investors to incorporate benchmarked public market data within the same platform. This creates a consistent, comparable view of climate risk across all asset classes, without fragmenting workflows or data governance. The platform supports the full climate data lifecycle—from ingestion and calculation through to reconciliation and reporting—aligned with leading global standards including PCAF and the GHG Protocol. All outputs are traceable and audit-ready, supporting portfolio risk management, governance, and regulatory disclosures such as IFRS S2. By combining real private-market data with trusted public-market sources in a single system of record, Pathzero transforms fragmented climate information into decision-grade portfolio insight—enabling institutional investors to manage climate risk with confidence as regulatory and market expectations continue to evolve.

As climate disclosure requirements accelerate in Australia, the conversation has shifted quickly from whether organisations report to how they turn climate data into decision-ready insights. Next week, Pathzero and S&P Global Energy are bringing together senior sustainability and investment leaders for a candid discussion on the practical realities of climate disclosure and portfolio-level emissions reporting under the new AASB S2 / ASRS standards. Our panel brings perspectives from across the ecosystem – asset owners, data providers, and sustainability practitioners – including: • Carl Prins, co-Founder & CEO, Pathzero (moderator) • Sannya Joseph, CFA Joseph, head of APAC ESG specialist, S&P Global Energy • Denise Healey, senior manager ESG, AMP • Ella Waite, sustainability manager, Avant Mutual • Max Peniket, senior analyst responsible investment, Aware Super Together, we’ll explore the real challenges organisations face – from collecting and standardising climate data across complex portfolios to improving data quality, assessing climate risk, and translating analysis into meaningful investment insights. In our last post from the Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC) Summit, CEO Carl Prins spoke about Pathzero’s first principle – being risk-based – and here Carl explains the second principle: framework alignment. Once you know where your largest exposures sit, the next question is whether you can trust and interpret the data behind the risk. In financed emissions, #PCAF’s data quality scoring was a turning point. It didn’t just standardise reporting, it made uncertainty visible. Investors could finally understand how much confidence to place in a number. Physical climate risk now needs the same shift. Risk outputs – often expressed as financial impact – are only truly decision-useful when paired with clarity around methodology, inputs and confidence levels. A high-level desktop assessment and a deep asset-level analysis shouldn’t carry the same weight. Understanding that difference is what enables defensible capital allocation, not just disclosure. Climate risk management must be risk-based, framework-aligned, and transparent about uncertainty. That’s how portfolios move from reporting to real decision-making. Read more about our practical approach to assessing physical climate risk across complex investment portfolios here: https://lnkd.in/gEXM-GhD Stay tuned for the third principle from Carl’s panel: collaboration and dynamic assessment. #ClimateRisk #PhysicalRisk #RiskManagement #IGCCSummit #DecodingTheTransition Alex De Muelenaere Charbel Ayoub

Our latest news covered by Capital Brief – the response reinforces a point we’re hearing consistently from institutional investors: climate risk can’t be assessed in parts. Public and private assets sit side by side on balance sheets, and they need to be assessed together. Pathzero’s collaboration with S&P Global Energy, MSCI Carbon Markets and Morningstar Sustainalytics reflects a broader shift in the market – away from fragmented datasets and toward whole-of-portfolio climate data foundations that can support governance, assurance and mandatory disclosure. Whole-of-portfolio climate risk management requires whole-of-portfolio data, and Pathzero can now deliver what the market has been missing. We’re collaborating with S&P Global Energy, MSCI Carbon Markets, and Morningstar Sustainalytics to bring leading public markets climate data into the Pathzero platform alongside our private markets network. For institutional investors, climate risk doesn’t sit neatly in silos. Public and private assets must be assessed together, using data that is: ✔️ Standards-aligned ✔️ Auditable ✔️ Decision-grade By integrating best-in-class public markets datasets with real, permissioned private market data from the Pathzero network, we’re enabling investors to manage climate risk across their entire portfolio in one secure, unified system. As disclosure requirements accelerate globally, this collaboration evolves Pathzero’s climate data infrastructure – built for governance, assurance, and scale – into a platform that delivers market-leading capability to every investor. At the Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC) Summit, our CEO Carl Prins highlighted a crucial shift: when it comes to climate risk, portfolios need a risk-based approach, not just a compliance exercise. In Carl’s words: “Don’t just look at every asset equally. Identify where your large exposures lie and understand the inherent physical and transition risks. Then, look for opportunities where capital can be deployed into strategies that thrive under climate scenarios.” By focusing on a risk-based lens, we turn climate data into actionable insight. It’s about making climate transparency truly decision-useful. #PCAF has released its updated 2025 GHG Accounting Standard – an important step toward more complete, consistent emissions measurement across the financial sector. The update expands guidance on financed and insurance-associated emissions, and introduces methods covering structured finance, sub-sovereign debt, reinsurance, and more. It also offers clearer guardrails for reporting avoided and forward-looking emissions. At Pathzero, we’re pleased to see continued refinement of the standard to help close long-standing gaps and support more robust, decision-useful disclosures. Progress like this makes it easier for institutions to understand their real climate impact – and climate risks. That’s a wrap on the #IGCCSummit2025. This year’s conversations underscored a clear shift – from understanding climate exposure to managing it in practice. Across panels and discussions, it’s evident that investors are ready to turn data and disclosure into tangible investment action. For Pathzero, that means continuing to build the infrastructure investors need to see and share climate risk across complex private markets portfolios. Lots to unpack and we’ll be sharing more thoughts in the weeks to come – looking forward to keeping the conversation going. Happy 20th anniversary to Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC)! A big thank you to the team and everyone who stopped by to connect, collaborate, and challenge what’s possible for credible climate-risk management. #IGCC20Years #ClimateFinance #SustainableInvestment #ESG #NetZero

The next step in our mission to make private markets transparent on climate risk is now live. Building on our award-winning platform for financed-emissions data exchange, we’ve expanded into physical risk – helping investors understand where assets are located, how they’re built, and how they may be exposed. It’s a logical next step, already underway with two major Australian super funds. The goal is the same as it’s always been: collect high-quality data once, share it efficiently across the investment chain, and use it to manage real-world risk. The Pathzero team is at the IGCC Summit again today, if you’d like to explore how this can work for your portfolio or organisation, please come and see us on the exhibitor floor.
