💎 Fantastic result - congratulations to the team! This is an exciting step toward site‑selective diamond functionalization and controlled NV center engineering; key steps in QB's vision for creating deployable chip-scale quantum-enabled devices. We are proud to be part of this ARC Linkage collaboration with La Trobe University and RMIT University.
Very pleased to share that our latest article, exploring ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) dosing of acetonitrile as a pathway to site-selective nitrogen functionalisation on diamond (100), has been accepted in Diamond and Related Materials While the nitrogen coverage we achieved under the explored conditions is relatively low, the results highlight a key point: UHV molecular dosing can drive site-selective surface chemistry on diamond, providing a pathway towards selective - and ultimately patterned - surface functionalisation. Combined with emerging developments in CVD overgrowth, this offers a route to subsurface nitrogen incorporation for engineering near-surface nitrogen vacancy (NV) centres, where placement and local environment are critical for quantum devices. This work was carried out as part of an ARC Linkage Project between La Trobe University, RMIT University and Quantum Brilliance. https://lnkd.in/gVuR2RJU
