This doesn’t mean “don’t enter IT.” It means the easy path is gone. Before 2020, companies hired freshers to train. Now they hire only people who can ship from day one. That’s the root problem behind these numbers: Too many graduates Too few real-world-ready engineers Companies under cost pressure So freshers who only have a degree will struggle. Freshers with projects, GitHub, freelancing, and production-level skills will still get hired. The bar moved. It didn’t disappear. Adapt or get filtered out. 💯

Sri Lanka’s tech sector just hit a major milestone: annual IT graduate output has reached 17,000. That’s a win for numbers. But from my recent experience reviewing over 500 CVs for a DevOps intern opening, it’s clear that increasing headcount is not enough. Upskilling graduates after college is useful. But the responsibility for improvement does not rest only on schools or employees. It’s time for companies to level up, too. We need better processes, modern workflows, and a mindset shift, not “because we’ve always done it this way” logic. When tech firms don’t adapt, all the talent in the world won’t deliver. It’s time to treat upscaling as a shared duty for graduates, teams, and companies together. #SriLanka #TechIndustry #Hiring #UX #DigitalTransformation

Most people generate AI images using simple prompts like: "A realistic South Asian Sri Lankan portrait with natural lighting." While this approach works, the results are often inconsistent because the instructions are too general. This is where JSON prompting becomes powerful. Instead of writing one descriptive sentence, JSON prompts organise instructions in a structured format, allowing AI models to interpret the request more clearly and produce more controlled and realistic outputs. When speaking with generative content creators and visual artists, a common question often comes up: "These days people can easily identify whether an image is AI generated or real. How can we make AI generated images look more realistic?" The answer often comes down to better prompting. Well structured prompts help reduce ambiguity and guide the model more precisely on how the image should be constructed, resulting in better detail, consistency, and realism. When it comes to structured prompting methods like JSON, the level of control and output quality becomes significantly higher. As generative AI continues to evolve, prompt engineering frameworks and structured prompting techniques are becoming essential skills for creators, designers, and developers working with AI generated content. The future of AI creation is not just about the tools we use it’s about how well we structure our prompts. #PromptEngineering #AIImageGeneration #GenerativeAI #JSONPrompts #ArtificialIntelligence #AIWorkflow

Azure DDoS on Oct 24th: We Felt It in Sri Lanka 🇱🇰👇 Azure mitigated a huge DDoS attack on October 24, 2025. While the attack was global, two-VM setup (App + SQL) hosted in Azure saw its API response times spike around 9:30 PM SLT. The diagnosis? VMs were fine (low CPU/RAM), meaning the latency was likely due to collateral network congestion caused by the massive attack traffic being scrubbed on the Azure edge network. Key Takeaway for SREs: Always correlate application slowness with the cloud provider’s global incident reports. Network-level stress, even miles away, can still affect local service performance. Did your services see any unexpected jitters that evening? #Azure #DDoS #CloudOps #Latency #SRE #CloudEngineering #DevOps #SriLanka

CyCity International Private Limited reaches a massive milestone in Quantum Computing! I am absolutely thrilled to announce that our Elohim 24 Q (QMPU-1) Quantum Merwyn Processing Unit architecture has successfully achieved 100% verified fidelity on IBM Quantum hardware (Brisbane/Eagle topologies)! At CyCity, we are pioneering the intersection of Quantum dynamics and Classical GPU concepts. Our newly validated Quantum SIMT (QSIMT) execution model is capable of dispatching mathematical operations across parallel quantum threads simultaneously through massive superposition. Even more exciting: We have successfully tested a passive Concatenated Shor-9 Error Correction circuit utilizing 81 physical qubits. By relying purely on quantum mechanical majority voting without the bottleneck of mid-circuit measurements, we achieved flawless error recovery in our test payloads, verified not just in simulation, but on physical IBM Eagle-topology processors! What's Next? We have wrapped our Execution Engine in a fully secure Enterprise REST API. We are pushing towards our enterprise execution dashboard and initiating our SOC 2 Type II compliance roadmap. A preprint detailing our entire QSIMT and concise Passive-QEC methodology is being prepped for arXiv. A huge 'Thank You' to the open-source community, Qiskit, and IBM Quantum for providing the substrate that makes these incredible bounds in compute possible. Stay tuned. The Silicon and Quantum revolution is just starting in Mangalore! #QuantumComputing #Qiskit #IBMQuantum #TechInnovation #QMPU #Semiconductors #DeepTech #Mangalore #MakeInIndia #DPIIT Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade CyCity International Private Limited CyCity Inc SPhotonix Inc Thank you for the support and Motivation.
