Extremely proud to support the Calgary Food Bank through our 8th Annual Ping Pong for a Purpose and to present a $80,000 donation this year. This will provide almost $250,000 in donated food to the community. Access to food is foundational, and the Calgary Food Bank continues to make a real, measurable impact for individuals and families across our city. This initiative was driven by generosity, teamwork, and a shared belief that giving back locally matters. Mary and Stephen are two volunteers who have grown alongside the Calgary Food Bank as we have expanded to meet the need for food support in our community. They started out volunteering at our main location but these days you can find them helping out clients at our downtown branch. As a part of National Volunteer Week, we are highlighting the incredible folks who make up our volunteer community. Mary and Stephen are just two of the people who help to fill almost 300 shifts everyday, but their infectious smiles and laughter make an impression that lasts long past the end of their shifts. #NationalVolunteerWeek

National Volunteer Week is extra special this year because 2026 is also the Year of the Volunteer! We are keen to take any excuse possible to celebrate our absolute powerhouse of a volunteer workforce. Our volunteers fill up to 300 shifts per day at the Calgary Food Bank, doing everything from answering phones, packing Emergency Food Hampers, sorting fresh food and more. If you have ever donated your time to our organization THANK YOU! Your commitment to the cause allows us to serve the food insecure in our community. A big thank you to Food Banks Canada | Banques alimentaires Canada for providing us with menstrual products through the Menstrual Equity Fund. Through this program, we receive 10,000 menstrual products each month to share with clients and partner agencies who need them most. For people already facing food insecurity, the monthly cost of period products can be an added financial strain. We’re proud to include these essentials in our Emergency Food Hampers to help reduce that burden and ensure dignity for everyone we serve. The Menstrual Equity Fund is supported by WAGE / FEGC
