The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for process planning, optimization, and quality improvement throughout the production and after-sales repair processes of robotic lawn mower products.
This role requires experience in consumer electronics, smart hardware, or electromechanical product manufacturing, with the ability to independently define process flows, lead fixture development, improve yield, and reduce cost.
Close collaboration with R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and After-sales teams is essential to build a complete process loop from design to mass production to repair.
Key Responsibilities
Process Planning & Design
Responsible for defining process routing, station layout, and creating SOPs for new products.
Design and optimize assembly, testing, and repair processes to ensure manufacturability (DFM) and repairability (DFR).
Establish standardized process parameters, including torque, force, temperature, and test logic.
Tooling & Fixture Development
Lead requirements, development, validation, and mass production deployment of fixtures and test equipment.
Optimize fixture structure and test logic to improve efficiency and consistency.
Participate in automation station design and efficiency improvement projects.
Yield Improvement & Issue Resolution
Analyze production and repair issues and drive improvements using tools such as fishbone, 8D, and DMAIC.
Lead failure analysis (FA) and DOE experiments to optimize process windows.
Monitor process KPIs, identify potential risks, and implement preventive actions.
Cost & Efficiency Optimization
Reduce cycle time, labor cost, and rework rate through process optimization.
Analyze repair process cost and optimize spare parts usage and repair steps.
Evaluate ROI of automation equipment and process changes.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Support R&D on DFM/DFR reviews to ensure alignment between design and manufacturing.
Support after-sales service centers by developing repair processes, training materials, and quality improvement workflows.
Participate in supply chain, PMC, and quality meetings to ensure process and material stability.
Requirement:
Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a Process/Manufacturing Engineer in consumer electronics, smart hardware, or electromechanical products.
Familiar with the New Product Introduction (NPI) process from design to mass production. Experience in after-sales repair processes is a plus.
Able to read technical documents in English. Chinese is necessary.
