Varun Sharma shared thisGreat news! Google has just been named the #1 Most Innovative Company of 2026 by Fast Company. I am incredibly proud to be part of an organization that doesn’t just adapt to the future but actively builds it. This recognition highlights Google's decade-long commitment to AI, specifically how we are turning the vision of Google Gemini into a "universal assistant" that creates real-world value for everyone, everywhere. Varun Sharma shared thisThe response at the Google booth during the India AI Impact Summit 2026 has been remarkable, showcasing the ambitious spirit across the country. This week has gone beyond demonstrations; it has focused on commitments that can transform lives: 🔹 Infrastructure: The new India-America Connect Initiative will significantly enhance AI capacity and reliability. 🔹 Skilling: Our collaboration with Karmayogi Bharat aims to equip millions of public officials with AI-ready skills. 🔹 Agriculture: We are making our Agri AI models available to developers and the government to address crop challenges for millions of farmers. 🔹 Scientific Breakthroughs: We have officially partnered with the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) to introduce Google DeepMind’s advanced models to Indian researchers. 🔹 Innovation: We are expanding Gemini’s capabilities in over 10 Indic languages. The individuals I met at this summit understand that AI isn't just a "sector"—it's a layer that will power everything. If you are considering a career pivot into AI, this is your sign. The tools are here, the infrastructure is being built, and the only missing piece is you. Feel free to drop a comment if you attended the summit—I’d love to hear what stood out to you! #IndiaAI #DeepMind #GoogleIndia #Recruiting #FutureOfWork #IndiaAIImpactSummit #Google #LifeAtGoogle

Varun Sharma reposted thisVarun Sharma reposted thisIntroducing Project Genie: An experimental research prototype powered by Genie 3, our world model, that lets you prompt an interactive world into existence — and then step inside. 🌎 Last year, we previewed Genie 3, a general-purpose world model capable of generating diverse, interactive environments. Now, we’re taking the next step with a dedicated, interactive prototype focused on immersive world creation — powered by Genie 3, Nano Banana, and Gemini. Project Genie allows you to create and explore your own worlds as they generate in real time around you, simulating real-world physics and interactions as you move. Building AGI requires systems that navigate the diversity of the real world — and world models like Genie are an important step toward meeting that challenge. It's rolling out today to Google AI Ultra subscribers in the U.S. (18+). We can’t wait to see the worlds you build. Learn more → goo.gle/4tlCFuG

Varun Sharma liked thisVarun Sharma liked thisWhat happens in Vegas! It’s been a great day on the ground here at #GoogleCloudNext. Walking a Showcase Expo the size of 8.5 American football fields, surrounded by 32,000+ attendees, you can genuinely feel the momentum in the air. Spending time on the floor, watching Thomas Kurian on the main stage, and talking with customers, one thing is clear: the agentic era is here. To put it in perspective, our models now process over 16B (!) tokens per minute. We’ve moved past just building AI agents to solving how companies can manage them at scale, clearing out team clutter so people can focus on the work that actually matters. To help our customers make this all a reality, we made hundreds of product and customer announcements today alone. Some of the big ones that stood out for me: -Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform: Companies are moving from building one agent to thousands, and this platform lets teams build, scale, and govern agents with confidence. -Gemini Enterprise app: AI should be accessible to everyone. New features like Canvas Mode give teams a single workspace to collaborate directly with AI, cutting out the busywork and constant tab-switching, and every employee can be an agent builder. -Agentic Data Cloud: We introduced a new AI-native architecture that frees your data from silos so it can be used at the incredible speed and scale required by agentic AI. -Agentic Defense: To protect the enterprise, we're combining Google’s Threat Intelligence with Wiz to put AI directly on the side of human analysts to prevent, detect, and respond to threats. -Our 8th Gen TPUs: To power all of this progress in an era that is going to need efficient compute, Amin Vahdat announced major innovations for our AI Hypercomputer, including our new dual-chip TPUs, optimized for training and inference. I can't wait to have a suite of agents supporting me and my team, built on Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. From speeding up our creative workflows to allowing us to go even deeper on data analytics and insights, this will be a game changer and allow us to scale from pilots to production. Bringing Cloud Next to life takes a village, so a huge shoutout to Sarah Kennedy Ellis, Peder Ulander, Jane Hynes, Rob Shilkin, and many more. The new way to Cloud gets better and better every year! Everything we announced today: https://goo.gle/Next26 And lots more to come this week, stay tuned!

Varun Sharma liked thisVarun Sharma liked thisWe are entering the age of agents, where models don’t just respond—they reason, execute workflows, and learn. To meet these new demands, I’m excited to announce the eighth generation of Google’s custom TPUs at Google Cloud Next, featuring two specialized architectures: TPU 8t: The Training Powerhouse, optimized to shrink frontier model development from months to weeks. - Scales to 9,600 chips and 2 PB of shared memory per superpod. - Delivers 121 ExaFlops of compute with 2.7x better price-performance than our previous generation, Ironwood. - Engineered for 97% "goodput" via automated fault detection and rerouting. TPU 8i: The Reasoning Engine, built for ultra-low latency to power real-time agentic experiences. - Breaks the "memory wall" with 3x more on-chip SRAM (384 MB) to keep active models entirely on-chip. - Features the new Boardfly topology, doubling interconnect bandwidth to 19.2 TB/s. - Provides 80% better performance-per-dollar for serving compared to Ironwood. For the first time, both chips run on our custom Axion Arm-based CPU hosts, allowing us to optimize the entire system for maximum power efficiency. We remain open-by-design, supporting PyTorch, JAX, and vLLM, while offering bare metal access for the first time. I’m eager to see how these systems empower our customers to build capabilities at the cutting edge of what's possible. I recently came across a 6-point scale framework that evaluates across six critical categories—no neutral answers, just clarity: 1. Overall Satisfaction 2. Career Growth 3. Work-Life Balance 4. Compensation & Benefits 5. Company Culture 6. Trust in Management This scale forces a choice—lean in or lean out—which helps cut through the ambiguity. It also highlights where the real gaps are, especially in leadership alignment or growth paths. #Blind ##EmployeeExperience #Leadership #CompanyCulture #PeopleFirst #HRInsights #FutureOfWork

19th Floor Paradox : one should think of a GCC as “the 19th floor of your office—just in another country. Essentially, the point is to treat the GCC just as you would if you were expanding into a new floor in your own building: hire, integrate, and plug them into the same systems, culture, and customer-obsession as you would on-site. #GCCs #Globalcapabilitycenters

As organisations grow, the work that matters most often goes unseen — in how ownership is defined, how leaders are developed, how decisions are made, and how operating rhythms hold as complexity increases. Over time, this is what determines whether an organisation stays healthy and effective. In this article for People Matters, we share how we approach building organisation health at Amazon India's Talent Acquisition team — through clear mechanisms, the COPE framework, disciplined Day 1 operating cadences, and a balance between technology and human judgement. If you’re thinking about how to build mechanisms that support continuous learning and strengthen organisation health as companies grow, I hope this offers a useful perspective. AI investment is accelerating across the globe, but investment alone will not create impact. Trust will. UKG India GVP Nitin Chandel's take on our the 2026 #UKGMegatrends is clear: the real barrier to AI adoption is cultural readiness, not technology. At the same time, rigid workforce models and surface-level engagement strategies are putting retention at risk. The organizations that move now will be the ones that stay competitive: people-first AI, agile talent models, and real enablement over perks. https://ukg.inc/4rMqSV5 #FutureOfWork

Especially in hyper-growth environments, where the mantra is speed, scale, and survival. In the rush to hit targets, raise capital, or for the next big launch, HR often becomes the invisible engine: 🚀 Hiring faster than the org chart can keep up, yet the pressure never eases because the real issue is relentless business demand for more people. 🤝 Holding the culture together when chaos threatens to pull it apart. 💨 Creating stability and fairness in environments that move faster than people can catch their breath. 🧘♀️ Managing burnout while quietly burning out themselves. The paradox? When challenges surface - attrition, culture cracks, compliance gaps - HR is expected to have all the answers. Yet when things go well, the spotlight often shines elsewhere. HR is the backbone of sustainable growth. No hyper-scaling company survives without strong people foundations. You can build product without HR, but you can’t build an enduring company without it. So here’s to every HR professional hustling in the shadows of high-growth: you are the unseen architects of tomorrow’s great companies. 🎉 Your work may not always get the headlines, but it creates the legacy. 💪👏 #HR #Leadership #ScalingCulture #FutureOfWork

Work-Life Integration: A Modern Symphony for the Contemporary Professional Once upon a time, the phrase "Work-Life Balance" held sway in boardrooms and break rooms alike, evoking the image of a metaphoric scale—precariously teetering between time spent at the office and moments preserved for personal sanctuary. But in the bustling, boundary-blurring reality of today’s hyper-connected world, this binary construct has begun to show its obsolescence. Enter the paradigm of Work-Life Integration—not a fragile balancing act, but a harmonious interweaving of professional aspirations and personal passions. No longer two separate silos competing for time, work and life now dance in synchrony. Consider Meera, a product manager and mother of two, who starts her morning with a virtual stand-up call while sipping tea on her balcony, taking in the morning sun. By late morning, she's at her child’s school play—thanks to asynchronous work models. In the afternoon, she brainstorms with her global team from the comfort of her study, and in the evening, she joins a virtual yoga session offered by her employer. This is not balance—it’s orchestration. Or take Raghav, a data scientist and avid musician. He integrates short creative breaks into his workday to compose music, often returning to his algorithms with fresh clarity. His employer recognizes that productivity isn’t about time on task—it’s about energy, flow, and fulfillment. Research now reveals that organizations embracing work-life integration have: Reported a 43% improvement in employee engagement, Witnessed a 38% drop in burnout, and Enjoyed a 51% uptick in employee retention. Unlike balance, which suggests equal distribution, integration acknowledges the fluid interplay of roles—sometimes life takes the lead, sometimes work does. What matters is the seamless choreography, the agency, and the autonomy to align both without guilt. In this modern age, the question is no longer "How do I balance work and life?" but rather, "How do I design a life where work is a fulfilling part of my living?" #WorkLifeIntegration #ModernWorkplace #EmployeeWellbeing #FutureOfWork #HumanCentricWorkplace #WorkLifeHarmony

India’s hiring problem isn’t what most people think it is. At Indeed FutureWorks Bengaluru 2025, one insight stopped the room: 61% of Indian job seekers believe employer support is performative. Not absent. Performative. In a market built on speed and scale, something critical has quietly eroded. And no amount of branding polish seems to fix it. So what actually does? Indeed's Talent Strategy Advisor, Rohan Sylvester, unpacked a framework to help employers close the gap between what they say and what candidates believe. 06 January 2026 feels less like a celebration and more like a quiet reset. Hiring for the USA markets while sitting in India has taught me one thing clearly: global opportunities don’t reward noise anymore — they reward substance. Across geographies, hiring conversations in the last year have shifted in a very visible way. Titles matter less. Pedigree matters less. What matters more is how clearly you think, how well you communicate, and how reliably you deliver. For young professionals stepping into 2026, especially those early in their careers, here’s what I see working consistently across global hiring: Depth beats speed: one or two strong skills carried with intent will take you further than five shallow switches. Ownership stands out: candidates who take responsibility — not just instructions — are remembered. Clarity is a differentiator: the ability to explain your work simply is now a core skill, not a soft one. Working with global stakeholders from India demands discipline, cultural awareness, and accountability. The same qualities are now expected from professionals, regardless of role or location. 2026 will quietly reward those who stay patient, build real capability, and think long-term — even when shortcuts look tempting. Wishing you a year of steady growth, sharper thinking, and meaningful progress. #TalentAcquisition #Careers #GlobalHiring

Interesting — In India (and globally), tech roles now make up over 50% of white‑collar job openings, yet overall hiring has slowed by ~26% YoY. The lesson? Demand doesn’t always lead to hiring. Companies are being selective, cautious. Good time for HR leaders to ask: Are we hiring for headcount, or hiring for value? Optimize quality, not just quantity. #hiringtrends #talentstrategy #hrleadership #futureofwork #workforcemanagement

Are We Ready for What’s Next? In 2025, the talent landscape isn’t merely shifting it’s transforming at a pace few could have anticipated. Recent insights from LinkedIn Talent Trends, Business Insider, and The Economic Times reveal: 1. 50% of India’s fastest-growing roles today didn’t exist 25 years ago. 2. 63% of professionals prioritize compensation and benefits, while nearly half place equal importance on work-life balance and flexibility. 3. Over 20% of professionals worldwide now hold job titles that didn’t exist a decade ago. We are quietly witnessing a revolution, from degree-driven hiring to skills-first careers, from rigid hierarchies to agile internal mobility, and from generic training to hyper-personalized development journeys. With over a decade in Talent & Learning, I don’t view this as disruption. I see it as a powerful opportunity, an invitation to reimagine how we identify, develop, and elevate human potential. #TalentStrategy #FutureOfWork #SkillBasedHiring #HRTrends2025 #LearningAndDevelopment #InternalMobility #PeopleFirst #GrowthMindset #AIinHR
