2014 → 2026: A Decade of Advancing Runway Rubber Removal Our SWIA team recently carried out night rubber removal operations in support of essential runway maintenance works at Singapore Seletar Airport - continuing a journey we began back in 2014. 2014 marked our early adoption of high-pressure water blasting technology for runway rubber removal in Singapore. It was a significant step toward safer, more efficient, and environmentally responsible maintenance practices. 2026, a decade on, we remain the only pavement specialist in Singapore consistently delivering this sustainable solution - refined through years of experience, innovation, and operational excellence. These works are critical in maintaining proper runway surface friction and ensuring safe aircraft operations. Over time, rubber deposits from repeated landings accumulate on the runway, reducing skid resistance and affecting braking performance. Using advanced high-pressure water blasting, our team removes these deposits effectively while preserving the integrity of the pavement - a solution that is both precise and environmentally sustainable. To ensure zero disruption to airport operations, all works are meticulously planned and executed during designated night operational windows, where essential maintenance can be carried out safely. At SWIA, precision, safety, and seamless coordination are at the heart of everything we do. Behind every safe take-off and landing is a dedicated team working through the night - and a decade of expertise that continues to raise the standard of airfield maintenance. #SWIA #SAMWOH
