2014 → 2026: A Decade of Advancing Runway Rubber Removal Our SWIA team recently carried out night rubber removal operations in support of essential runway maintenance works at Singapore Seletar Airport - continuing a journey we began back in 2014. 2014 marked our early adoption of high-pressure water blasting technology for runway rubber removal in Singapore. It was a significant step toward safer, more efficient, and environmentally responsible maintenance practices. 2026, a decade on, we remain the only pavement specialist in Singapore consistently delivering this sustainable solution - refined through years of experience, innovation, and operational excellence. These works are critical in maintaining proper runway surface friction and ensuring safe aircraft operations. Over time, rubber deposits from repeated landings accumulate on the runway, reducing skid resistance and affecting braking performance. Using advanced high-pressure water blasting, our team removes these deposits effectively while preserving the integrity of the pavement - a solution that is both precise and environmentally sustainable. To ensure zero disruption to airport operations, all works are meticulously planned and executed during designated night operational windows, where essential maintenance can be carried out safely. At SWIA, precision, safety, and seamless coordination are at the heart of everything we do. Behind every safe take-off and landing is a dedicated team working through the night - and a decade of expertise that continues to raise the standard of airfield maintenance. #SWIA #SAMWOH

Honoured to reflect on a journey that began in 2013 and continues to define us as airfield specialists today. When our SWIA Airfield Specialist team first took on rigid aircraft pavement with a mechanical slipform paver, it was completely new territory. Before that, we had already completed 56+ aircraft parking bays in Singapore using the conventional method - each one a valuable lesson. Over the years, the thousands of hours spent onsite - from material behaviour and grade preparation to casting sequence, texturing, curing, and coordinating utilities - have become our strongest foundation. Today, this deep, hands-on knowledge enables us to deliver high‑performance aircraft pavement for new terminals with confidence and precision. What started as learning has become instinct; theory has become craft. This is a tribute to the passion and resilience of every engineer, supervisor, crew member, supplier, and partner who shared this journey. Every challenge shaped the specialists we are today. Here’s to building infrastructure that keeps airports moving and aviation safe. Proud of the path behind us - and excited for what’s ahead. #SWIA #SAMWOH

  • Golden Jubilee celebrations of Samwoh would not be completed without a memorabilia to pay homage to our 50 years of remarkable journey. After much deliberation, a drinkware comprised a mug and an uniquely designed lid was conceptualized and produced. The design intent encapsulates the essence of aesthetic, pragmatism and timeless. More importantly, this drinkware resonates well with a Chinese proverb "饮水思源" (i.e. remember and appreciate our beginnings when we achieve success) as we drink from the mug. It serves as a reminder to all Samowhreans that this organisation was not built overnight. Our growth was paved by one generation for foundation building and another for continual transformation. Now, we have a shared responsibility to pass on this legacy to the next few generations. At the core, this gifting is more than just an item. It captures the moment of history, evokes powerful memories and establishes a connection across different generations. The emotional tie is what drives the value and makes it matter. Let's raise the mug and cheers to Samwoh for many more 50 years to come! #SW50 #SamwohGoldenJubilee #RaiseTheMug #CelebratingLegacy #ConnectionAcrossGenerations
