Clarence Wong CSSCLP shared thisIt was a privilege to be the panel speaker at the recent SP Jain School of Global Management’s flagship Business Conclave in Singapore, alongside some of the most respected minds in global supply chain leadership. The event, themed “Supply Chain Leadership through Technological & Regulatory Turbulence”, brought together a vibrant group of over 100 Executive MBA students, faculty, and industry practitioners — despite the rainy Friday morning! Kudos to the organizing team and our moderator, Dr. Rajiv Aserkar, for curating such a timely discussion. As part of the panel with Sachin Mirashi, Dossetter, Akshat Shah and Paul Bradley FCILT CPL, I had the opportunity to share Oracle’s view on how technology — especially Agentic AI, cloud platforms, and digital supply chain solutions — is enabling organizations to build self-adaptive, resilient operations amid rising complexity. 🧠 My key takeaways: - Agentic AI is here – AI systems are moving beyond automation toward intelligent, proactive action that supports real-time decisions across procurement, logistics, and manufacturing. - Resilience is a design principle – From diversifying suppliers to regionalizing operations, agility now begins at the planning stage. - Scenario thinking is a survival tool – We must adopt dynamic planning as a habit, not a one-time activity, especially with trade policy shifts and geopolitical uncertainties. - Digital fluency is non-negotiable – Tomorrow’s leaders must be as comfortable with data, AI, and cloud platforms as they are with negotiation and strategy. - Human-AI collaboration will define the next era – In the age of AI, the ability to align tech with human judgment and ethics is what will truly set leaders apart. Grateful to the organizers and fellow panelists for the engaging discussion — and to Rashmi Udaykumar(she/her) & Rajiv Aserkar for the opportunity to contribute. Let’s keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in supply chain leadership. This event on the topical theme of ‘Supply Chain leadership through technological & regulatory turbulence’ was hosted by SP Jain School of Global Management - Dubai, Mumbai, Singapore & Sydney with GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN LEADERSHIP ALLIANCE and received an overwhelming response on a rainy Friday morning with attendance from about 100+ cohort of Executive MBA students, academic staff and leading supply chain practitioners in the industry. I shared P&G’s experience in creating a resilient & ‘data enabled’ supply chain leveraging automation and Digitization to win on shelves & accelerate value to business, in these turbulent times and VUCA world. The address set the stage for an intriguing dialogue through the insightful panel discussion on this topic moderated by Dr. Rajiv Aserkar involving thought leaders viz. Clarence Wong CSSCLP, Barb Dossetter, Paul Bradley FCILT CPL and Akshat Shah. My key learnings & takeaways from the event to continue winning in this ever-evolving geopolitical landscape and rapid technological advancement in the age of AI, were as follows: 1. Change is happening ‘NOW’ and data is your biggest currency to enable end to end value creation! 2. Learn continuously (Upskill yourself & your workforce) , be an ‘entrepreneur’ and strengthen Emotional intelligence & courageous leadership to stay competitive! 3. Look around the corners to remain relevant (to ensure fast adoption of technologies since the speed of change is accelerating). 4. Continue to ‘design in’ resilience in supply chains via diversification & regionalisation of supply footprint. 5. Need to bring ‘Scenario planning’ as ‘the way we work’. We must learn to perfect the ‘sub-optimal’ to survive & thrive! 6. As world moves towards Agentic AI and Quantum Computers, we’ll need to prepare humans around technology/ AI going forward!! Thanks to Rashmi Udaykumar(she/her) for providing me this exciting opportunity to learn from the best & get inspired! #supplychainmanagement, #innovation,#digitization,#automation

Instead of meeting a business partner or visiting a plant or attending internal company meetings at our Singapore HQ, I was grateful to visit Nanyang Technological University Singapore campus and be an industry guest speaker in classroom of Nanyang Business School. I thoroughly enjoyed sharing Procter & Gamble Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa’s journey on transforming ‘business of supply’ with vision of ‘autonomous end to end operations’ leveraging technology, with the students of Nanyang MBA Operations & Supply Chain Management class! The interactions with this talented cohort who are going to soon shape our industry, provided me great opportunity to give back and also learn a lot in the process. Over the fireside chat facilitated by Professor Geoffrey Chua which followed my speech, we had engaging and thought provoking discussions with these bright students who offered fresh insights and interesting perspectives. This helped me grow as business leader. I got chance to engage informally over networking lunch with this curious bunch of students. I was excited to see how they are preparing to make a positive difference in corporate world by bringing innovative ideas and new ways of doing the work leveraging diverse skillsets & backgrounds. Thanks to the University for inviting me and providing me with this fantastic learning opportunity with these promising ‘future leaders’. #supplychainmanagement;#futureleaders; #touchlessoperations;#powerofminds Cecilia Tan ; Clint Navales

Several of my business contacts are asking me to provide my market updates to LinkedIn, so this is my first attempt at it We are now seeing a clear divergence in narratives: • One side is signalling prolonged conflict • The other is projecting a quick resolution • Meanwhile, escalation continues on the ground This is not just geopolitics. This is market-moving risk. Oil prices are rising. Equities are reacting. Uncertainty is increasing. The key question investors should be asking is not “What will happen?” But rather: 👉 “How do I position myself if this continues?” In volatile environments like this, preparation beats prediction. Clarence Wong CSSCLP liked thisClarence Wong CSSCLP liked thisAI IS KILLING MDM (Master Data Management) Why? Because AI needs access to a unified source of operational data, not just master and reference data. In other words, before AI, application systems synchronized their master data through MDM: it was efficient and profitable. But today, with AI, application systems are progressively being replaced by AI-driven automations. These automations require a unified access point to all operational data, not just master and reference data. AS A RESULT, TRADITIONAL MDM IS BECOMING IRRELEVANT. To build profitable AI systems, we must instead design an Operational Data Store (ODS) that aggregates knowledge across: - master data - reference data - operational data There is no longer a need for a specialized MDM repository. It becomes naturally embedded within the operational data layer itself. The ODS then handles: - identity resolution - historical tracking Important: data landing and data staging should not be handled inside the ODS. I will come back to this in a future post, with a proposal leveraging new types of databases optimized for data flows. Ultimately, instead of a siloed MDM approach, we implement a Conceptual Data Model that: - encompasses all data - synchronizes with everything - integrates into the SPU (Semantic Processing Unit) The SPU also includes: - the Business Glossary - data narratives - synthetic data A possible technical stack could rely on Supabase / RLS, but the real prerequisite is mastering Conceptual Data Modeling. An Enterprise Knowledge Graph (EKG) can then be added to leverage the power of ontologies when relevant. I invite you to take a look at the diagram accompanying this post, and I would be very interested in your feedback. The next edition of Sustainable AI Systems will be released on April 2nd, focusing on Conceptual Data Modeling for profitable AI. To make sure you don’t miss it, feel free to subscribe via the link in the first comment.

What a way to start 2026. On Jan 3, 2026, #US forces captured President #Maduro and the First Lady of #Venezuela. In a decisive move, President #Trump launched “large-scale strike” operations — less than a year after his #LiberationDay tariffs (April 2, 2025), a seismic package of import duties that once again shook #GlobalTrade and #GlobalSupplyChains. After #AI chips, #GPUs, #rareearths, and #EVs — could this spark a new commodity trade war involving #oil, #gold, #silver, and other #preciousmetals? These ongoing disruptions serve as a powerful reminder that supply chain resilience is no longer optional — it’s foundational to business continuity, national stability, and global security. 🎉 Celebrating Inspiration, Resilience & Leadership Last year, our Singapore Computer Society SCS Supply Chain Management Chapter President, Jeffrey TAN, joined Dr. Christina at her Book Launch Tea Party for her new release, “Tough As Nails.” As part of the Fireside Chat titled “The Reflective Hero: Personal journeys to discover purpose hidden within our toughest battles,” Jeffrey shared perspectives drawn from both personal experiences & professional “lifequakes,” connecting them to the broader lessons of resilience, adaptability & leadership that define the #FutureofSupplyChain (FoSC) transformation. 📘"Tough As Nails" highlights eight extraordinary individuals who faced adversity & rose stronger — reminding us that every storm eventually passes. Through this conversation, Jeffrey emphasized how personal resilience parallels organizational & #supplychainresilience: 💡Building agility & foresight in the face of uncertainty. 💡Turning adversity into innovation & strength. 💡Leading with empathy & purpose during global disruption. 👏 Our gratitude to Dr. Christina. an experienced procurement leader in the supply chain space, for the invitation and to fellow panelists — Rachael, Tun Kim & Jacqueline — for sharing heartfelt stories of courage, identity & growth. As we move forward into 2026, the #SCS #SCMChapter continues to champion resilient, sustainable & human-centric #supplychainleadership — ready to adapt in an increasingly uncertain world. Singapore’s Budget 2026 sets a clear direction for accelerating our national AI ambitions. In this CNA article, I shared that SAP’s vision is to empower every organisation in Singapore to adopt AI responsibly and at scale, helping businesses innovate, grow and positively impact society. As outlined by PM Lawrence Wong, the formation of the National Artificial Intelligence Council marks an important step in strengthening Singapore’s AI leadership. At SAP, we see our role as more than technology enablement. We are working with enterprises and public sector agencies to operationalise AI securely, embed it into core business processes, and ensure governance frameworks translate into measurable economic and societal value across Singapore. The opportunity now is execution — turning national ambition into enterprise-wide transformation. #Budget2026 Julia Madden Dhyoti Basuki-Ramdhani LIHER URBIZU Austin Menyasz Dr. Lovneesh Chanana Chee Martin Abhishek Anand Yvonne Lee Stephen Su https://lnkd.in/g6kNkDDj

I recently spoke with #CRN about how we see #digital transformation unfolding across #AsiaPacific. In this region, transformation is no longer about chasing the latest technology trend. It is about #focus and depth. What I hear from leaders across #APAC — in Japan’s #automotive sector, India’s #manufacturing hubs, or Australia’s #food and beverage industry—is clear: they want solutions that speak the language of their #industry, not just generic platforms with endless customisation. I believe that the next wave of value lies in industry-specific #innovation. Not broad, one-size-fits-all systems, but technology designed for the industry it is built for. That is what allows businesses to #adapt quickly, #innovate confidently, and deliver #results that matter on the ground. At the same time, transformation is not just about technology. It is about #execution. The best #strategies fail without the right partnerships, local expertise, and customer-first mindset. In a region as #diverse and #dynamic as APAC, that alignment is what separates incremental change from real progress. Which industries in APAC do you think are most ready for this kind of #transformation? It was an inspiring experience to host our SAP Enterprise Cloud Services customer council in Singapore this week – a remarkable gathering of visionaries, innovators, and leaders committed to driving real business transformation. I had the pleasure of delivering the keynote and sharing the stage with Bharathi V. from Suntory Beverages & Foods, exploring their incredible journey of transformation. Their story is a powerful example of how cloud ERP, business AI, and a strong partnership can accelerate meaningful change. Other standout moments were the presentation from David Seow from Fu Yu Corporation as well as the customer panel featuring Herminto Herminto from Averis and Amit Jha from PGP Glass. They all generously shared their experiences navigating digital transformation. Their openness and insight sparked valuable conversations and gave us all plenty to reflect on. We also hosted interactive roundtables focused on the topics of ‘improvement’ and ‘operations’ — a chance to dive deep into real-world challenges and exchange practical strategies. Throughout the event, our sessions on business AI, Joule, SAP Data Cloud, and clean core generated a lot of energy and excitement. These are all critical pillars for any organization looking to stay resilient and agile in the face of constant change. What I find most powerful about these councils, time and again, is the opportunity to connect. We connect with our customers, yes. But just as importantly, customers connect with one another. These shared dialogues and open exchanges are how we collectively move forward, face transformation with confidence, and lead together. Thank you to every customer who joined us, to the SAP and customer speakers who inspired, and to our team who brought this council to life. It's double celebrations in Thailand this week! We've launched Thailand’s first world-class hyperscale #cloud, AIS Cloud powered by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (#OCI). This game-changing platform brings hundreds of OCI services to Thailand, helping public and private sector organizations seamlessly transition into the #AI-powered digital era. In parallel, Oracle is collaborating with the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) part of Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES) to provide skills development training for up to 100,000 students and professionals in Thailand by 2028 to enhance employability and support long-term career growth. Together, the launch of AIS Cloud and this strategic collaboration with depa to upskill the workforce will help build a vibrant digital ecosystem in Thailand that connects advanced technology with top-tier talent to unlock the full potential of AI for the Thai community.
