Supporting health professions students learning at Sunnybrook

You are the next generation of health-care providers, and we’re here to help.

As a student, resident, fellow or observer, you’ll receive a highly sought-after learning experience at one of Canada’s leading academic health science centres. 

Sunnybrook is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto and has partnerships with universities and colleges across Canada and around the world. Together, we are educating for a better health care future.

Drop-in Orientation Sessions

All learners are invited to meet the Student Services Team at the Education Centre (E-Wing, 3rd floor, Room E3-50) at 8:00 a.m. on the following dates for a non-mandatory introduction to hospital and learner services/resources, or to answer any questions. Both current and learners new to Sunnybrook are welcome to attend the 15-min orientation.

Contacts and Resources

All registration requirements (including online modules and orientation) must be completed before an ID badge can be issued. 

Bayview campus, including CNIB Dialysis Centre, Pine Villa and Veterans Centre: ID badges can be collected from the Education Centre (E-Wing, 3rd floor, room E3-50) in the main building of the Bayview site. No appointment is required. 

Office hours: Monday to Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 
 
St. John’s Rehab (SJR): ID badges can be collected from Student Services staff (specified dates outlined in welcome letter). 

Holland Centre and Reactivation Care Centre (RCC): ID badges will be received directly from preceptor/clinical instructor on the first day.

A valid Sunnybrook ID badge is required to board the Sunnybrook shuttle.

Please note that poor weather, road and traffic congestion may cause shuttle delays.

Bayview Campus to Downtown Shuttle

Shuttle pick-up/drop-off locations:

  • Bayview Campus (2075 Bayview Ave): Shuttle picks up from the H-Wing entrance.. Shuttle drops off at the ramp to the main entrance (M-Wing) and at H-Wing.
  • CNIB (1929 Bayview Ave)
  • Holland Centre (43 Wellesley St East)
  • Women’s College Hospital (76 Grenville St): Shuttle picks up from the north side of WCH on Grosvenor St.

St. John’s Rehab/Finch GO/Bayview Campus Shuttle

Shuttle pick-up/drop-off locations:

  • St. John’s Rehab (285 Cummer Ave): Main Entrance (Eaton Wing)
  • Finch GO (5765 Yonge Street): North side of Bishop Ave, just east of Yonge St. adjacent to the passenger parking lot. There is an indent in the road where the bus will stop.
  • Bayview Campus (2075 Bayview Ave): Shuttle picks up from the H-Wing entrance. Shuttle drops off at the ramp to the main entrance (M-Wing) and at H-Wing.

To Get Started:

  • Download the app by visiting the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and searching for MSL Shuttle Tracker from the developer Mulmer Services Ltd. Download the app to your smart phone or tablet.
  • Open the app and select the + sign in the bottom right corner. Enter your run code (see below) to begin tracking the shuttle.

Sunnybrook Education Centre

Sunnybrook’s Education Centre, located in E3-50 (E-wing, 3rd floor, room 350) is available to provide support to all health professional students. 

The Education Centre is a centralized resource for registration and onboarding for learners. It is the first stop for students to pick up security and parking passes, as well as to reach out for support and guidance throughout their placement.
