Vintage Style Stoneware Crock and Wooden Utensils – Sadie Seasongoods
Oh I love this one… it’s a twofer! Sarah found white ceramic canisters at her thrift store and wondered if she could recreate the look of a vintage stoneware crock. Spoiler alert… she absolutely did! And she shares the entire process so you can do the same. Vintage crocks can be pricey, so this is such a great way to get the look for less. Then she added wooden utensils, which usually just need a good wash, light sanding, and sometimes a little stain to bring them back to life. Once everything is styled together on the counter, it instantly feels warm and welcoming… and it didn’t take much time or money at all.
Farmhouse Style Cutting Board Kitchen Wall Art – Organized Clutter
Our friend Carlene picked up a few cutting boards and started experimenting, but wasn’t quite happy at first. So she went back to the drawing board… and this time everything clicked. With a little cleaning, painting, sanding, and some simple stenciling, these cutting boards turned into beautiful farmhouse wall decor. Add hooks and suddenly they’re functional too. Something like this could easily cost $75 or more in a store… but with thrifted finds and a little creativity, she made it for a fraction of the cost. Love that!
Upcycled Thrifted Cheese Grater – Turning Clock Back
This one is such a clever idea! A simple thrifted cheese grater becomes the cutest earring holder. Diana shows how easy it is with just a bit of cleaning, sanding, and paint. You can customize it any way you like and it makes such a fun, unique piece for a dresser or vanity. Quick project, inexpensive supplies, and something you truly won’t see anywhere else. Total win!
DIY Repurposed Teapot Planter Thrift Store Makeover – Grillo Designs
This sweet little project is as easy as it gets. Find a teapot or coffee pot you love, clean it well, add drainage, and plant away. How charming would a teapot filled with herbs be on a kitchen counter? Or a few teacups with tiny plants as a centerpiece? Simple, affordable, and absolutely adorable.

Hallmark Channel – Ken Wingard’s DIY Rolling Pin Kitchen Rack
If you ever spot rolling pins at the thrift store, grab them! This project is such a great one. Sand them, stain them, paint them, even wallpaper them if you like… then turn them into a rolling pin rack using this tutorial. It looks high-end but can easily be made for around $30–$40. A piece like this would cost hundreds in a store, and you can finish it in an afternoon.
How To Antique a Tray Using Chalk Paint – DIY Beautify
Thrift stores are full of silver trays… some perfect, some not so much. The ones that need a little love are perfect for this project. Cindy shows how to give them an aged, antique look using chalk paint. They’re beautiful for coffee stations, stove-top decor, or even a tray wall. Such an easy way to add character to your kitchen.
Thrifted Kitchen Tools for Spring – Refresh Restyle
Once you see these, you’ll be heading to the thrift store immediately. Old mashers, whisks, and utensils get cleaned up and styled with seasonal touches like birdhouses, greenery, or spring decor. They instantly become charming cottage-style accents. Inexpensive, quick, and so much fun to change with the seasons.
Modern Farmhouse Kitchen Caddy – Sadie Seasongoods
One more great idea from Sarah… this time using a thrifted magazine rack and turning it into a baking pan storage caddy. She even added a hook for an oven mitt. It’s practical, creative, and looks amazing in a farmhouse kitchen. Keep an eye out for old magazine racks… they have so much potential!
I hope today’s little collection inspired you to look at your thrift store finds in a whole new way. It really doesn’t take much… just a little imagination, a bit of paint or polish, and a love for giving things a second chance. These small farmhouse kitchen makeovers prove that charm doesn’t come from spending a lot of money, but from creating a home that feels loved and lived in. So the next time you’re out thrifting, take your time, look closely, and have fun with it. You never know what simple little treasure is waiting to be turned into something special.
