📣We are excited to announce that the book Artificial Intelligence in Neuroscience edited by Li Su, is now available to pre-order. Artificial Intelligence in Neuroscience is a clear and practical guide to using AI to better understand the brain and improve clinical care. Written with accessibility in mind, it connects the shared history of AI and neuroscience to today’s real‑world applications, from neuroimaging and genetics to mental health and population studies. The book also explores emerging tools such as brain–computer interfaces and drug discovery, while thoughtfully addressing the ethical and privacy questions that come with AI‑driven research. DPUK’s Lewis Hotchkiss has contributed his expertise in a chapter focusing on the importance of protecting patient privacy when translating AI models from secure research environments into real‑world clinical practice. The chapter brings together the knowledge and research led by DPUK on AI risk and privacy protection, providing practical guidance for the development of responsible AI models. 🔗 Order your copy here: https://lnkd.in/ePi8-A4T UK Research and Innovation | NICE - National Institute for Health and Care Excellence | Alzheimer's Society | University of Cambridge | Deep Dementia Phenotyping (DEMON) Network | Neuroscience Institute at The University of Sheffield | Population Data Science at Swansea University

Great to be at the TREvolution Showcase in London today, where the early adopter projects are presenting progress on enabling data federation across Trusted Research Environments. It is encouraging to see the momentum building behind a more connected, efficient and research-ready ecosystem. Federation has the potential to transform how researchers securely discover and analyse data across platforms, while maintaining the highest governance and security standards. The DPUK Data Portal is proud to have been an early adopter in this space, contributing to federation-enabling discussions and helping shape practical approaches to implementation. We are also pleased to be supporting two exemplar research projects being showcased tomorrow — BRAID and CONNECT-AF — both of which will utilise data within the DPUK Data Portal. Exciting to see collaboration turning into delivery, and to see DPUK continuing to play a leading role in the future of federated data access for research. #TREvolution #Federation #TrustedResearchEnvironments #DataScience #HealthData #ResearchInnovation #DPUK

This Week in the SynthSprint! The DPUK Data Portal is excited to spotlight the latest SynthSprint, a synthetic data exploration programme designed to help researchers engage with data earlier, work more efficiently, and do so in a secure environment. Central to this initiative is DPUK’s innovative approach to developing three tiers of synthetic data fidelity, each tailored to address real‑world research challenges and unlock new opportunities for secure, flexible, and high‑quality analysis. This week, participants will be accessing high-fidelity synthetic data which captures more detailed information about the relationships between variables to assess whether this extra information provides any further utility 🔍 Exploring data structures and assessing project feasibility ⚙️ Developing and testing code ahead of full data access 🎓 Building skills and confidence within a safe, reproducible environment The insights generated through this SynthSprint will feed directly into the forthcoming Utility Framework, being developed by ADR UK, DPUK, and the UK Data Service, helping to enhance data access pathways across the UK research ecosystem. Delivered with the support of: 🔹 SeRP - Secure eResearch Platform 🔹 ADR UK (Administrative Data Research UK) UK 🔹 UK Data Service 🔹 Datacise Open Learning 🔗 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dJqQd6w4
