Charlotte Watkins reposted thisCharlotte Watkins reposted thisThis week we hosted a Private Markets Perspectives Workshop in London, led by Daniel Hawkes, Head of UK Intermediary Sales. The session brought together wealth managers to explore how evergreen private markets strategies can be incorporated into multi‑asset portfolio construction. Steven Turner, Managing Director and Head of Investment Selection in the Portfolio Solutions Group, highlighted the benefits of a multi‑asset private markets approach across asset classes, vintages, and return drivers. Alongside him, Shaun Mullin, Managing Director of European Private Credit, shared insights on private credit as an established asset class, supported by senior secured, floating‑rate structures that have historically offered an illiquidity premium, lower correlation to public markets, and downside protection. Together, the sessions offered a practical, forward-looking perspective on how private markets can play a more integrated role in wealth portfolios.

Charlotte Watkins liked thisCharlotte Watkins liked thisI used to think I needed more money, more friends, more milestones to be happy. But the happiest people don’t have more, they: Notice more. That’s the real skill… the art of noticing. Can you find the extraordinary in the ordinary? - The sunlight hitting your coffee cup just right. - The sound of someone laughing in the next room. - The way the sky blushes before it sleeps. Now, the things that make me truly happy aren’t big or loud. They’re quiet and subtle. Easy to miss, unless you’re looking. And maybe that’s the whole point. Because happiness isn’t waiting at the end of achievement. It’s hidden in the moments you rush past on your way there. If you can’t slow down enough to notice what’s already here, you’ll keep chasing something that was never lost, only unseen. Happiness isn’t something you find. It’s a manner you travel in. And realising this has made me the happiest I’ve ever been🫡 ♻️ repost to make someoene else happy

Charlotte Watkins liked thisCharlotte Watkins liked this✨You’ll never finish your to-do list ✨ That tough truth was placed in front of me by my coach, and I’m still getting used to it. Being busy is just part of life these days, but sometimes it feels like I spend all day bouncing from one thing to the next, only to end up with nothing to show for it. So I started thinking: what tasks have the biggest impact? And I don’t always have the answer. As it happens these days, when I don’t know, I organise an event!!! This one is called “What Moves the Needle” - focused on figuring out what really pushes the business forward. We’ve got the inspiring and wise Alla Ouvarova as our Q&A guest, plus curated networking by Evntful 🌸 We’ll be asking, what are we focussing on when it’s all urgent? The goal of the evening is for you to leave with more clarity, a toolbox, and connections that matter for your business. London April 29 5pm

I had no idea I’d find myself surrounded by such an inspiring group of powerful women, all in the most beautiful setting—Knatchbull (Prev. The Deck London) , hosted by its incredible founder, Daisy Knatchbull . Knatchbull isn’t just the only female focused tailor on Saville Row but also it’s first B Corp.. Needless to say, the creations are nothing short of magnificent. If you’re looking for a truly unique, tailored outfit, I can’t recommend their beautiful boutique enough. Baillie Gifford • 600 followers
Back in 2018, Baillie Gifford promoted the actual investors proposition to re-define active investment so that its true benefits could be properly understood and taken advantage of. We still see it as a clear articulation of a conversation that we’ve been having with our clients for decades. This continues to hold true and this latest paper from Stuart Dunbar highlights the merits of active management, and what helps to differentiate us. If you’d like to know more read the paper below or visit our website. https://lnkd.in/ee6cp-NX #ActualInvestors #BaillieGifford

Please check out this podcast from Leo Kelion and Baillie Gifford. Whether you invest already or have no idea what investing is, Short Briefings on Long Term Thinking is worth your time. It opens up the world of investing in a way that’s clear, human, and genuinely interesting. This latest episode, “Skin in the Game: The Hidden Power of Persistence”, looks at why long-term leadership, from founders to families to firms with real values, can lead to better outcomes. When I started working in this industry, I knew very little about investing. Over time, I’ve built enough understanding to feel informed and able to make good choices for my future. That knowledge matters. And more of us deserve access to it. Not financial advice, just a signpost, because I know how important a way in can be.

Earlier this week, we had the pleasure of hosting clients in Bournemouth and Brockenhurst for an insightful session with PIMCO’s Senior UK Adviser, Rupert Harrison. Rupert shared PIMCO’s perspective on the global fixed income landscape and key investment themes ahead of the UK Autumn Budget. 🔍 Summary Highlights: Global central banks now have more flexibility to cut rates compared to five years ago, even as government debt levels remain elevated in a fragmented, multipolar world. 📈 Investment Outlook: Take a humble, long-term approach to global bond markets. With elevated yields available, focus on separating signal from short-term noise and seek high-quality, globally diversified fixed income solutions. A huge thank you to all our delegates for their support across venues—and to Kyle Barwell at Liontrust Asset Management for his valued collaboration.
