Polylang Translate Header & Footer with FSE Block Theme not possible

I want to translate my Header and Footer of my Website.
Unfortunately the Polylang documentation for the Site Editor (https://polylang.pro/documentation/support/guides/site-editor/) is not very clear, if by now (February 2026) the translation of Header (not only the top navigation, but the whole Header) and Footer became a Pro feature or not. For me the “Polylang language metabox” mentioned in step 2 does not appear at all in the FSE (also not on regular pages or somewhere else).

The support of my theme (Yuna) provider (Anarieldesign) answered:
“I did a quick check on my end, and it looks like Polylang Pro is required for this feature to work with the site editor.
To be honest, this is a bit unusual, as menu translation has typically been available in the free version. I would recommend reaching out to the Polylang support team to see if there’s another option.”
As the Polylang support team is only available for Polylang Pro customers, I am posting here.

  • URL modifications
    • The language is set from the directory name in pretty permalinks
    • Remove /language/ in pretty permalinks
    • The front page URL contains the language code instead of the page name or page id
  • Detect browser language: Activated
  • Media: Activated
  • Custom post types and Taxonomies: Deactivated (and greyed out, so I could not activate it even if I wanted to)
  • Synchronization: Every entry of the list is not ticked (standard setting, did not touch this)
  • The rest are Pro features, so obviously cannot change anything there.
