    Hello,
For months my blog has been showing around 326 subscribers (usually 325–327), with the normal small fluctuations due to new subscriptions and unsubscriptions.
A few hours ago, right after a new subscription came in, it suddenly dropped to 301.
This seems like a significant and unexpected loss of about 25 subscribers in a very short time. Could you please check what happened and help me restore them?
    Thanks!

Update: Subscribers are continuing to disappear. I’m now down to 298 and I don’t understand why.

    Hi @moniquenamie.

    Thanks for flagging this!

We recently ran some platform-wide maintenance that cleaned up inactive and defunct accounts. This lined up with the timeframe of your drop, and is very likely the cause. The removed accounts were dormant, so your actual readers and email subscribers shouldn’t be affected.

Hope this was helpful! Please let us know if you need further assistance or if you have additional questions.

    Thanks for your explanation.
I have a question about another topic. I’ll open another thread.

    Hey @moniquenamie,

Glad that helped clear things up 🙂

Yep, feel free to open a new thread for the other question and we’ll take a look there.

Hi, I just wanted to report that some subscribers are reappearing, which is positive, but I don’t understand why they first disappear and then reapper.

    Hi @moniquenamie,

Sebastian here, I hope you are doing well.

Thanks for the follow-up, and it’s great to hear that some subscribers are coming back! That’s actually connected to the platform maintenance we mentioned earlier. The cleanup was carried out in phases over several weeks, and during that time, subscriber counts can show small fluctuations as the data is processed and reconciled across our systems. This is expected behavior while a large-scale cleanup finalizes.

If you’d like to keep an eye on your subscriber list going forward, you can view and manage it directly from the WP Admin dashboard, Stats → Subscribers. If you notice this keeps being an issue, please contact us again, and we’ll take a look.

    Cheers,
