Did he even make the top 100?<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">On this day in football history<\/h4>\n\n\n<dl class=\"tdih_list\"><dt class=\"tdih_event_type\"><\/dt><dd><span class=\"tdih_event_year\">1909<\/span>  <span class=\"tdih_event_name\">Nottingham Forest inflicted a record defeat on Leicester Fosse when they beat them 12-0 in Division One. At a subsequent inquiry into the result it transpired that the Fosse players had been celebrating a colleague's wedding two days before the match.<\/span><\/dd><dd><span class=\"tdih_event_year\">1917<\/span>  <span class=\"tdih_event_name\">Kilmarnock beat Celtic 2-0  to end their run of 63 Scottish League matches without a defeat; a record for a British club.<\/span><\/dd><dd><span class=\"tdih_event_year\">1930<\/span>  <span class=\"tdih_event_name\">Brentford beat Queens Park Rangers 3-0 and thus won all 21 of their home Football League matches in Division Three South. Despite this they only finished runners-up to Plymouth Argyle due to poor away form. Sunderland, Liverpool, Bury, Sheffield Wednesday and Small Heath have all won every home game in a season but the programmes were shorter in every case.<\/span><\/dd><dd><span class=\"tdih_event_year\">1930<\/span>  <span class=\"tdih_event_name\">Leicester City and Arsenal drew 6-6 in Division One. This remains a record draw for the First Division although it was equalled as a Football League record when Charlton Athletic and Middlesbrough drew 6-6 in a Second Division game in 1960.<\/span><\/dd><dd><span class=\"tdih_event_year\">1934<\/span>  <span class=\"tdih_event_name\">Bill Imrie scored three goals in Newcastle United's 5-1 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers. This is the first recorded instance of a recognised half-back scoring a hat trick in a Football League match. Tommy McDonald, normally a forward, had previously done so when playing out of position for Newcastle United against Cardiff City on Christmas Day 1926. Imrie was a fine attacking wing or centre-half and in 400 English and Scottish League matches he scored 54 goals between 1927 and 1939.
