Use Canva on Moodle

With your school’s Canva Education account, seamlessly create, share designs, and setup assignments to your class within your Moodle account.

You can add or attach a Canva design in Moodle

1. Log in to your Moodle account and select your course.
2. From the top-right corner, click Turn editing on.
3. Select Add activity or resource. A prompt will appear.
4. Select Canva Education and then on Select content. This will open Canva.
5. Select the design you’ve already created or create a new one.
6. Select Link Text and then select either View design only or New design for each student. Select New design for each student if you want to assign a copy of the design to each student.
7. Select Save. All students within the course can now either view the design or create a copy of it by selecting the design activity.

Let students create and design their assignments using Canva.

1. Log in to your Moodle account and select your course.
2. From the top-right corner, click Turn editing on.
3. Select Add activity or resource and select Assignment.
4. Name your Moodle assignment.
5. Open the Canva design you want to add and click
   Share from the editor menu bar.
6. Select
   More.
7. Search for “embed” and select
   Embed.
8. Select Embed and then Copy under HTML embed code.
9. Back in Moodle, choose HTML from the rich text editor toolbar and paste the embed code on Canva.
10. In the Submission type, select Online text.
11. Select Save Assignment to finish.

Learn how students can submit assignments in Moodle with a Canva design

After students submit their assignments, you can check and grade them on Moodle.

1. From your Moodle account, go to Assignments.
2. Open Student submissions.
3. Select an assignment to open the Canva design.
4. Grade and add comments to student assignments.
5. Save the changes to finish

Just for fun, you can create a Moodle course header in Canva.

1. On Canva, search “Moodle” and select the header you like.
2. Optional: Edit the header to customize it.
3. Download the header.
4. In Moodle, click on a course.
5. Select the gear icon.
6. Select Edit Settings.
7. Upload your course header in the Course image section.
