Daycare Rates – Effective September 30, 2025
Rates may change before they are updated on this website. We recommend that you confirm rates when you make your reservation and again when you drop your pet off for boarding.
Dogs brought in for daycare must be picked up the same day. Daycare rates apply no matter when your dog is dropped off or picked up.
Our rates do not vary with your pet’s size or breed. We also do not charge extra for feeding your own food or administering medications you provide, except for injections, as noted below.
Our daycare fee includes two playtimes per day plus a stuffed Kong. Additional fees may be charged for medical injections and trips to and from the veterinarian.
Since area veterinarians typically do not see non-clients, our only option may be to take your pet to one of the emergency veterinary hospitals in Maine. This can result in charges for staff time and mileage in addition to the veterinary costs. Since the closest emergency hospital, Eastern Maine Emergency Veterinary Clinic, occasionally does not accept clients, we may need to transport your pet a substantial distance to get them the care they need, which can add a significant cost to their stay with us. While this happens very rarely, you need to be aware of it.
Bookings and Cancellations – Daycare reservations can be made in person, over the phone, or by emailing us at [email protected]. Please do not make reservations via Facebook. If you need specific days of the week regularly, we suggest you book several weeks ahead as we have people on a waiting list waiting for a spot.
Please cancel all daycare reservations you will not need at least 48 hours in advance so we can fill that spot with someone on our waiting list. Failing to cancel will result in our asking for advance payment for future reservations. It may result in losing your place in daycare and VIP status. We understand that family emergencies can occur, and if you explain a sudden cancelation, we will work with you. Our daycare rates are designed around optimal occupancy. Those who cancel at the last minute or do not show up and do not even have the courtesy to cancel at all drive rates up for everyone.
Daycare for Dogs
The base daycare rate for a dog includes two individual playtimes or two group playtimes. Not all dogs are suitable for group play, and eligibility is determined solely by Green Acres Kennel Shop. If you request group play and your dog is eligible for group play, you will receive a daycare discount, as noted below.
VIP and VIP Plus Loyalty Programs – Green Acres offers VIP and VIP PLUS loyalty programs to clients who spend a certain amount over 12 months. For example, in 2024, VIP clients will receive a 5% discount on boarding, daycare, and grooming services, while VIP PLUS clients will receive a 10% discount on boarding, daycare, and grooming services. VIP and VIP Plus clients may also receive special product offers via email. A current email on file with Green Acres is required to participate in our VIP programs. Client spending is evaluated annually every year.

1 Individual Play – Dogs will be taken out one at a time for a play session with a pet care technician when the client requests or if Green Acres determines that a dog is unsuitable for group play. Dogs from the same family sharing a kennel will be taken out together but billed at the individual rate if they cannot be taken out with non-familiar dogs.
3 Group Play – Dogs who enjoy the company of other dogs may be taken out with other dogs at playtime when you request and when Green Acres Kennel Shop has determined that a dog is suitable for group play. These dogs receive a discounted boarding rate.
