He's run with the bulls in 🇪🇸 Pamplona 🐂 . We think joining Avoca as its first Sales Engineer might be his second most daring move. We're thrilled to welcome Diego S. to Avoca! California bred, Bay Area born, Diego went to school in San Diego before cutting his teeth in San Francisco's tech scene. But before all that, he spent years in the restaurant industry throughout high school and college, building a deep appreciation for what great customer service actually looks like. 🍽️ That combination is exactly what brought him to Avoca. Diego wanted to mix his customer-facing roots with tech and AI, and as our first Sales Engineer, he's doing exactly that. What excites him most? Creating solutions that deliver top tier customer service 24/7. For the home service businesses we work with, that's not a nice to have. It's everything. When he's not building out our SE function, you'll find Diego cooking, on the golf course ⛳ , or locked into a game of Catan. His NYC restaurant pick is Le French Diner in the East Village. We trust his taste. Welcome, Diego! We're so glad you're here.

This month is National Pest Management Month, and it's a good moment to recognize the technicians, CSRs, and business owners who keep homes and businesses safe from the stuff most of us would rather not think about. At Avoca, we work with pest pros across the country, and the work ethic we see is unmatched. Here's to the crews showing up, solving problems, and making life a little less itchy for the rest of us! Paul Kelly is an industry legend. He helped build Parker & Sons into one of the most respected home services companies in the country. He's sitting down with Federico Crivelli for an honest take on what owners should actually be paying attention to, and what's just noise. 🤝 Partnering with Electric & Gas Industries Association (EGIA) to bring this conversation to operators. 🥑 The Avoca CS team went head-to-head in The Great Guac Off last week. Recipes were debated. Cilantro was harshly judged. Trash was talked. We've been growing fast and shipping wins for customers as they head to their busy season. Felt right to step out for a few hours and just be in a room together having fun. A few things I was reminded of: - The best teams compete with each other, not against each other. Watching people who normally collaborate on making clients successful argue about lime ratios was the good kind of chaos. - You can't fake chemistry. Either it's there or it's not. Ours is. - Small rituals matter more than big offsites. Ninety minutes of guacamole did more for team cohesion than most planning docs I've ever written. - Shoutout to teambuilding.com for running it. Easy to book, zero lift on our end, and the facilitators were great. We're hiring across the NYC office, including roles on the CS team. Link in comments. What's the best team event your company has done this year? Always looking for ideas. #CustomerSuccess #Avoca #TeamBuilding

He can do a backflip. He plays keys in a neo soul band 🎹 🎷. And before joining Avoca, he was building and selling voice AI to local businesses in his NYC neighborhood, entirely on his own. We're thrilled to welcome Ivan Knoepflmacher to Avoca as our newest Implementation Manager! Ivan grew up uptown in NYC, studied psychology at Colby College in Maine, and was a competitive gymnast turned collegiate diver. When he first heard about Avoca, the connection was instant: he'd already been living and breathing this exact problem. As Ivan puts it, "I love building things. There's no better feeling than getting a bot to book into a CRM exactly how it's supposed to." He's most excited about helping clients implement voice AI and showing them how valuable it can actually be. He describes Avoca's culture as: Industrious. Collaborative. Scrappy. When he's not onboarding customers, you'll find Ivan cliff jumping, traveling, or eating at The Bao in the East Village. Welcome, Ivan! 💫

When we were building the team at Avoca, we wanted every person, from engineering to sales, to be obsessed with the customer. That's how we created Avoca's version of the Forward Deployed Engineer. Engineers who go on site, sit with your front office managers, learn how your business actually runs, and build for your teams. A request in the morning, shipped by the afternoon. Hear it from our FDE Neal Patel in his own words 🗣️

A former luxury cowboy hat saleswoman? 🤠 Not many of us can have that on our LinkedIn! We're thrilled to welcome Emma Goodman to Avoca as our newest SDR! Originally from Westchester, Emma studied Computer Science at Colgate before doing what any CS grad would do: moving to Aspen for two years to sell luxury western wear at Kemo Sabe. She learned sales, met some incredible people, and yes, she can absolutely help you find the right cowboy hat. Emma joined Avoca because she wanted to combine her love for tech with her ability to sell, at a company whose product touches people's everyday lives. What excites her most? Being part of something being built from the ground up, and hearing from prospective customers about what Avoca actually means for their business. She describes our culture as buzzy, welcoming, and dynamic. Outside of work, Emma is on a mission to have one NYC cultural experience a month, whether that's a show, a museum, or a new corner of the city. She's also a dedicated restaurant and bakery explorer. Her latest standout meal? Claud. Not the AI. She cannot wait to go back. Welcome, Emma! We're so glad you're here. ✨

I'll be joined by our partners Avoca, and my fellow Nexstar Network member Mark Paup from Golden Rule Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electrical in Grimes, IA. Thursday, April 23 @ 10AM ET.
