We had another great meetup yesterday at Profit4Cloud in 's-Hertogenbosch! Hanno Embregts 🎤 🎸 enlightened us about the success and potential successors of Git. And Bertrand Foffe shared with us his story about Jangolo and the lessons learned designing it using Domain-driven design. Thanks to both speakers for the wonderful content, to our host for providing a welcoming space and to everyone who attended last night. We hope to see you next time!

Tonight we again had a very successful meetup as Brabant Java User Group. First we like to thank our new host, Sioux Technologies in Eindhoven for providing us with a great space and food! Second we like to thank our speakers for providing high value content: Marianne H. and Simone de Gijt ! Finally thanks to Ko Turk for stopping by to give out a free ticket to Voxxed Days Amsterdam 2026. As a JUG we will also be present at this event. We are always looking for speakers! BrabantJUG - Java User Group reposted this
Watching the Release of #Java25 at the BrabantJUG - Java User Group At BrabantJUG, we had the please to watch the release of Java 25. Enjoyed the show with Ana-Maria, Sharat, Nicolai, Stuart (aka dr deprecator) 😉 The main stage at the meetup was for: Balkrishna Rawool (ING Nederland) on Vector Databases He explained how vectors work (dimensions) and how to check similarities. I enjoyed his cool demo's about: - Mapping colors into vectors using RGB - Searching for similarities between colours, words like king, and even sentences with/without LLaMA & RAG - Building Froogle search (showing the same like images) 😁 📂 GitHub: https://lnkd.in/etmEZ-NH David Vlijmincx (JPoint) on Async IO with Java & C He explored the challenges of making native calls with virtual threads, showed how to leverage io_uring on Linux (with the Linker API and JExtract), Also interesting how he did a performance test and showing flamecharts! 📂 GitHub: https://lnkd.in/e6yA-PQz Big thanks to Jaap Coomans, Remco 🏍️ Siemonsma, Tom Wetjens, Joep Weijers, Gijs Leussink, Sasha Koning and everyone from Topdesk for the warm hospitality and great talk! The next BrabantJUG event is at the 24th of November at Sioux Technologies in Eindhoven (can't wait). Maybe I will do a little pitch on Voxxed Days Amsterdam too 😇 #Java #BrabantJUG #Community #Java25 #AsyncIO #VectorDB #jextract
