Yesterday's Data Centers Innovation & Next-Gen Workforce Summit was exactly the kind of gathering our industry needs — and a powerful reminder of why these conversations matter. From thoughtful dialogue on utility collaboration to honest discussions about dispelling data center myths, it was a day full of substance and shared purpose. What stood out most was a collective commitment to being good neighbors — not just as builders, but as long-term partners invested in local workforces and job creation. Demonstrating to communities how data centers support the next generation of leaders in their communities and the nation. A heartfelt thank you to SMU Lyle School of Engineering & The Hunter & Stephanie Hunt Institute for Engineering & Humanity for hosting and creating the space for these important conversations, to every speaker who brought expertise and candor to the stage and to all the attendees who made it such a meaningful day. This is what it looks like when an industry comes together with intention. We're grateful to have been part of it. 🤝

Shining a spotlight on Jason, a proud graduate of the first-ever Texas State Technical College MEI Data Center Pathway Program cohort! 🎓 Jason's journey speaks volumes: feeling like he finally "belonged" in a hands-on tech environment, taking a leap of faith and finding a program that truly listens to industry needs and delivers real opportunities. He perfectly embodies the drive and camaraderie that make this program so impactful. His words resonate deeply: "It feels like I'm being listened to. There's a lot of companies out there that are always saying we need these people, but they're not really hiring." This program is different, making a tangible difference in workforce development. Congratulations, Jason! We're incredibly proud of you and the entire first cohort, and we're cheering on the second cohort as we close in on their graduation in May. It's UT Energy Week, and we're amplifying conversations from the innovators working on the energy challenges that matter most to our industry. On the latest episode of Not Your Father's Data Center, our Chief Customer Officer Raymond Hawkins sits down with Matt Loszak, co-founder and CEO of Aalo Atomics, to talk about what it will actually take to power the next generation of data centers — cleanly and at scale. Growing up in Ontario, Matt had 62 smog days a year and chronic asthma. Then his province transitioned its energy grid to nuclear. The smog disappeared. His asthma went away. That moment eventually led him to co-found Alo Atomics, a company building what may be the fastest path to clean, reliable, gigawatt-scale power for data centers. The conversation covers the XMR vs. SMR distinction, rolling refueling schedules that eliminate downtime, behind-the-meter power economics, and a long-term vision for power at 3 cents per kilowatt hour. If you're thinking about where the electrons come from next, this one is worth your time.
